What Better Way to Start the Week than to Pray the Rosary?

St. Dominic is my Confirmation patron, but can anyone tell me who the nun is that Baby Jesus is reaching out to? I want to adopt her as another Dominican friend.

  1. St Catherine of Siena. We have a Rosary Altar which is a shrine to Our Lady in our parish church of Woodchester, Gloucestershire, England, with the same scene carved in stone. St Catherine of Siena is also patroness of Dominican tertiaries/lay Dominicans and I am currently going through the process to become one.

  2. By the way, St Catherine of Siena is not a nun but a Dominican tertiary just like St Rose of Lima. In those days one wore the Dominican habit as a tertiary, living in the world and not within the cloister.

  3. Most likely it is St. Catherine of Siena.

The original painting at Pompeii depicted St. Rose of Lima, but the attribution was changed to St. Catherine of Siena. Since then, the triad is OL of the Rosary with St.s Dominic and Catherine.

  4. Ah, thank you Sarochka and Terry for the enlightenment. St. Catherine and St. Dominic, pray for us.
