Rider College, NJ Censors Students' Food Choices...No Chik for you!

It all started with a survey last Fall asking students at Rider University in Mercer Country, NJ what food vendor they would like to see on campus. Among the choices was Chik-fil-A. (Multiple "choice" test, right?) The students'  chose the popular chicken franchise.

WRONG ANSWER!

The university sent out a second survey with Chik-fil-A purged. (The head-shaker is why the politically correct administration included them in the first place. But, hey, maybe they wanted to see how much "thought control" they had to exercise to bring their students into line with the world of Big Brother.) A cover letter sent out with the second survey "explained" their reason for dissing the students' choice. (Can anyone seriously believe Rider isn't censoring "food for the brain" choices as well?) Here's what the cover letter said:

“Chick-fil-A was removed as one of the options based on the company’s record widely perceived to be in opposition to the LGBTQ+ community.... [According to the administration, the restaurant chain’s corporate values] “have not sufficiently progressed enough to align with those of Rider.”
Which apparently includes no tolerance for Christian values, despite the school's claim to "prepare graduates to thrive professionally and to be lifelong independent learners and responsible citizens who embrace diversity, support the common good, and contribute meaningfully to the changing world in which they live and work."

Really... Is purging Christian values the way to "embrace diversity?" Are Rider's "lifelong independent learners" allowed to be independent thinkers?

Now...let me emphasize that there is no evidence, not one iota, that Chik-fil-A discriminates against any of its customers. I'm sure those wearing rainbow flags are treated the same as customers in MAGA hats. They don't refuse service or encourage their staff or customers to bully people. In fact, the staff at Chik-Fil-A are probably the politiest in the fast food industry with their big smiles and "My pleasure!" But (horrors!) they are known for being a Christian company and the president spoke out awhile back in opposition to same-sex "marriage." [And, gosh!, they even close on Sundays.]

Well, by definition these days, Christians are guilty of "hate crimes" if we quote Biblical admonitions against sodomy or dare to criticize the sin that trumpets its name from the rooftops and demands all to fall to their knees in worship. From their tolerant perspective, it's time to re-open the colosseum and bring on the lions. No free speech that opposes Big Brother's rainbow agenda can be tolerated. So until Chik-fil-A and all the other bakers, photographers, t-shirt makers, florists, wedding planners, etc. kow-tow to the god of perversity they must be banned, censored, and punished and the students who support them must be re-educated. Off with their heads! -- at least until those heads are stuffed with the correct thoughts.

A dean of the university, Cynthia Newman, resigned over the bigotry and is speaking out. Hopefully, that will negatively impact admissions or at least embolden Christian students to stand their ground. Although I suspect that would get them persecuted and likely suspended for crimethink.

Frankly, I'm praying that Rider goes belly up. At $42,120 annually for an undergraduate plus fees and books and all kinds of miscellaneous expenses...well...shouldn't one expect some tolerance of Christian values? I wonder how a student in a MAGA hat would be treated on that campus. Would there be a safe space for them?

  1. The words " have not progressed enough to align" are frightening.

    Goose step comes to mind.

Rider makes a laughing stock of college being an environment of open debate. Apparently one's "values" must align with the professors. Must align with the administrators. Must be on the road of "progress" straight into hell.

Wake up parents and stop sending your kids to these indoctrination centers!

  2. Would that more Catholics were like Cynthia Newman. Note that she, the cake baker and Kim Davis are all evangelicals.

But one can no longer blame Catholics for lack of standing up for their faith. Pope Francis just called the Church an adulteress, a whore. I guess that makes her to be the Whore of Babylon.

  3. This college recruits ,love bombs and brainwashes new students through their ALLY program. It happened to a friend's child from a large Catholic family. For a shy introverted kid away from home for the first time the "friends" in Ally and Profs are very inviting.

Who doesn't want to be POPULAR at that age?
Decades ago a male relative complained that at Mass U new dorm residents would get a knock on their door . a student would introduce himself or herself as "gay" and if the new student did not respond positively he or she would be reported for Sensitivity Training Sessions. Gee, that used to be called entrapment in the legal arena.

  4. Right - we *must* be tolerant to Rider's intolerance.

Good Lord in heaven - irony much, Rider U?

Nazis, Communists,... etc. Fairly much the same mind-set.
