If there were no possibility of sacrilege when receiving Holy Communion in the hand, why did the Catholic Church mandate one’s receiving on the tongue for over 1,000 years? Today, 70% of Catholics do not believe in the Real Presence. Can anyone deny that standing to receive Holy Communion and receiving on the hand have contributed to this great loss of Faith? It is very sad to see Catholics who formerly received on the tongue succumb to pressure to receive on the hand because of fear of spreading the COVID virus. Isn’t JESUS the Lord of Life? Why, one has to ask, was the head (Cardinal Sarah) of the Congregation of Divine Worship’s signature absent from the recent controversial Vatican document backing the ban on receiving Holy Communion on the tongue during the COVID pandemic? GOD bless Cardinal Sarah for his great witness to Truth.
