I don't agree with everything Trump is doing, like the aggressive talk about taking over Greenland and Gaza, and, worst of all, his position on IVF. On the other hand, I'm cheering some of his anti-woke moves that push back against insanity with the truth. Let's take a look at a few. Check out these articles:
- Karoline Leavitt Announces Policy to Ignore Reporter Emails Containing Pronouns in Signatures: "The White House has now implemented a striking new media policy. Indeed, Trump’s administration will no longer respond to reporters who include preferred gender pronouns in their email signatures or bios.
“As a matter of policy, we do not respond to reporters with pronouns in their bios,” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed. This stance has been echoed by multiple administration officials....
"The administration sees this as a matter of scientific truth, not politics. When reporters signal their alignment with gender ideology through pronoun usage, the White House views this as an indication of journalistic bias."
- Trump suspends $175 million in funding to University of Pennsylvania over trans athletes: In February, Trump signed an executive order banning men pretending to be women from women's sports. Now he's walking the walk by imposing consequences. "The decision comes after Trump last month signed an executive order called "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports," which would cut federal funding from educational institutions that allow transgender women and girls to compete in female sports. Penn received more than $1 billion in federal funds in fiscal year 2024, according to The Daily Pennsylvanian. A $175 million freeze would account for about 17.5% of that money." U. of P. isn't the only one either. It's a start!
- Trump Orders Department Of Education Closure: And it's about time! The Department was Jimmy Carter's reward to the school unions for supporting him for president. That's the game -- a little payola stolen from the taxpayers for your buddies. And what did it accomplish? Nada! U.S. children are among the worst educated in the world! So go for it, President Trump! Send education back to the local level where parents have more control. And let's get good folk on local school boards instead of idealogues who want to put tampons in the boys' bathroom and let let boys in dresses into the girls room where they can commit sex abuse.
Pray for the administration. You tend to get the leaders you deserve. We need to seek God's intervention for our beloved country. Prayer can work miracles.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.
We've already received God's intervention. Trump was NOT killed in Butler PA via God's intervention.

ReplyDeleteDOE is funded at least thru 09/2025--as Massie pointed out: in September 2024 republicans led by trump and johnson had to pass Biden's spending bill so as not to jeopardize the election, then in November they had to pass Biden's spending bill thru March 2025 so Trump could get his people in, then in March they had to pass Biden's spending bill thru September 2025. Trump signed it and has vowed to primary Massie!
ReplyDelete"Trump signed an executive order Thursday in an effort to “BEGIN eliminating the federal Department of Education.” With the stroke of his pen, he officially set in motion a plan to shutter the 46-year-old agency, as he said, “once and for all.” But the order STOPS SHORT OF immediately CLOSING the department, which CANNOT BE DONE WITHOUT CONGRESSional approval.”

As Massie also points, using executive order rather than legislation as the Constitution mandates, trump knows everything he does will be TIED UP in court UNTIL the next Biden is elected and REVERSES everything trump did by executive order.
"The issue came to a head a few days later, when President Trump got into a televised spat with Maine Gov. Janet Mills, a Democrat, during a meeting of governors at the White House. With Mills’ colleagues looking on, Trump called her out, asking if she’d comply with his executive order.
Mills said she’s “complying with state and federal laws.” Maine bars discrimination based on gender identity.
Trump responded, “We are the federal law,” and threatened to pull Maine’s federal funding.
“We’ll see you in court,” she replied.
Later that day, the education department opened its OCR investigation. Days later, the administration released a statement that all but foretold the outcome, saying it’s “shameful” that Mills “refuses to stand with women and girls.”
For her part, Mills says no president can withhold funding authorized by Congress “in an attempt to coerce someone into compliance with his will.”
In a statement, she added, “Maine may be one of the first states to undergo an investigation by his Administration, but we won’t be the last.”

Presidents have used impoundment since the administration of Thomas Jefferson. The 1974 Impoundment Control Act made it more difficult, but there is still a legal path to control spending. Here's an interesting article that explains how it works.

Since the administration controls both the House and Senate and the spending cuts are popular with the American people, the likelihood of being able to accomplish his goals seems, at the very least, possible.
