The Shroud of Turin and the Face of Jesus
When I saw this image of Christ the King, I fell in love with it. One of the main reasons is because it looks so much like the face of Jesus reconstructed from the Shroud of Turin. All of the hoopla from unbelievers trying to say the shroud was a medieval fake has fallen by the wayside. The carbon dating that supposedly proved it wasn't old enough to be authentic was taken from a sample corrupted by the fire of 1532. No one has ever been able to recreate an image like that of Christ on the shroud by artificial means. Certainly, the technology to try to fake it was not available to the ancients.
My brother, a physicist and mathematician, was an expert on the shroud and knew many of the scientists involved in the shroud study. He frequently gave presentations on the shroud and even a multi-session class. He addressed the carbon dating in a paper available here.
The shroud is truly a gift to a disbelieving and cynical age. I love to contemplate the living face of Christ created from the shroud image. The devotion to the Holy Face takes on heightened meaning when one can gaze on what was truly the face of Christ. May Jesus Christ be praised!
Trent Horn got really mad about the face of Jesus per the Shroud. There was that media image of a trogladite goblin they said was a 1st century Galilean looked like a few years ago. Some Catholic posted an AI reconstruction of Jesus face based on the Shroud and said Jesus was not a grotesque brown goblin, and Trent was so mad and lied and said the media had not insinuated Jesus looked like a goblin only that a 1st century Galilean man did and since I Trent Horn have 10% goblin DNA I m offended that anyone would call the brown goblin ugly since that's my great great grandfather and therefore you have to ppretend Jesus looked like a goblin.
ReplyDeleteWhy are brown people goblins but white people real persons? I wish Jesus would return and remind everyone He and His mother are both from the middle east before many Jews mated with Europeans. What does looking like brass even mean?
DeleteKinda reminds me of Devine Mercy an St Faustina.. Hystic all the way.
