Bob Marshall vs. Tim Kaine: A Statesman vs. an Obama Clone

An Obama clone for senator, right? Not if I can help it. We have a great Republican alternative in Bob Marshall, a strong pro-life state delegate who has worked tirelessly for Virginia. He is a fiscal conservative who fought Kaine's unconstitutional 2007 law allowing local unelected bodies to impose new taxes on home sales, car sales and repairs, vehicle registrations, hotel and car rentals.

One of the most important issues Bob would address is the activist courts' legislating by judicial fiat. That's how we got abortion-on-demand and it is apparent "gay marriage" will be imposed the same way. And yet, under the system of checks and balances established by the founders, Congress has the power to limit the out-of-control judiciary which has consistently thwarted the will of the people in favor of a liberal elite. And, in fact, four of the first Chief Justices of the Supreme Court recognized the power of Congress to remove classes of cases from the federal courts. When you consider the recent decision of the 9th Circuit Court to overthrow the will of the people in California over the bogus "right" of homosexuals to marry, this is a timely issue that needs a powerful voice in Congress.

Virginia is the birthplace of our nation. Eight presidents were born here including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe. Our flag show a roman champion with his foot on the neck of a defeated tyrant and bears the message Sic Semper Tyrannus, "Thus always to tyrants." Bob Marshall is a statesman in the model of our founders. We need him on Capitol Hill. Please support him even if you live outside Virginia. He will work for all godly people of good will who hate seeing our country destroyed by fiscal irresponsibility and moral depravity. Visit Bob's website.

A Walk on the Left Bank

While the left continues to fulminate about Rush, a little walk down memory lane is in order to see the left's idea of "respecting women" which includes Playboy advocating "hate-f***ing" Michelle Malkin, Letterman making a joke about the statutory rape of Sarah Palin's daughter, Perez Hilton calling Carrie Prejean a "dumb b***ch," etc. ad nauseum.

Now where is the pulling of sponsors and the unrelenting rehash by the media about the treatment of these conservative women? Don't hold your breath.

See the left's idea of respect for women here. And then ask whether Rush's statements, for which he has apologized, were as egregious as they are. Frankly, I didn't hear obscenities coming out of his mouth.  He was insulting and provocative and imprudent, but the unbalanced outrage vs. the shrug and wink about demeaning treatment of women coming from the left is breathtakingly hypocritical! And that hypocrisy includes Sandra Fluke's. She didn't mind appearing on Ed Schultz's show. Remember him? He called Laura Ingraham a "right wing slut." He apologized and Ingraham graciously accepted it, unlike Fluke's petulant attitude toward Rush.

But hypocrisy is the left's badge of honor. They follow Saul Alinsky's adage to make your opponents abide by their rules, while no rules apply to you. If you want to understand the left, read Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. It's a real eye-opener that explains everything you see coming out of the progressive camp. Jesus knew all about this which is why he advised his followers:
"Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves."
Rush was pretty accurate when he said he shouldn't have sunk to the level of his opponents. I agree.  We need to remember, as Christians, that they are not the enemy, just the useful dupes of the father of lies. Pray, fast, and fight for the truth. Nothing makes the left more upset than that.

Sandra Fluke's Nemesis: The 20-Something Catholic Law Student

10 Most Cited Arguments in Favor of the HHS Mandate

[ed note: This is a helpful write-up of some brief arguments against the HHS mandate that a friend of mine wrote up. She allowed me to share it with you, so enjoy!]
I am a Catholic, unmarried, left-leaning centrist, female, 20-something, law student. Not only does this mean that I enjoy those oft-avoided subjects of religion and politics, it also means that no matter what the topic is, I am sure to be able to point you to an entire circle of my friends that will argue with me to the death. Very enthusiastically, in fact.
The Obama/HHS Mandate is the perfect example. Within my various circles, and across the nation, this mandate has simultaneously sparked debate about religious beliefs, Constitutional freedom, political party divides, and the issue of women’s rights, to name a few. These discussions result in recurring arguments made in support of the mandate which have a tendency to surface regardless of which issue was the catalyst of that particular debate. And so, in light of that fact, I present to you the un-official list of the ten most cited arguments made in support of the mandate, and why every one of them fails.
10.   “The Church is just opposed to universal healthcare!”
I’ve got news for you: the Catholic Church actively advocates for universal health care. In fact, the Church teaches that health care is a right, not merely a privilege, as articulated by Pope John XXIII in Pacem in Terris (Peace on Earth) in 1963. Read more here.

Barack Obama and Values Clarification

In a 2004 interview with then Chicago Sun Times reporter Cathleen Falsani, Obama discussed his opinion of what constitutes sin. His answer is straight out of Values Clarification, the philosophy that you decide for yourself what principles you want to live by and make choices based on those principles.. In other words, you make your own values (You are your own god.) and then you remain true to your own values. In other words, if your value is wealth and fun, the chief goods in your value system, you may decide that to lie, cheat, or steal is justified to acquire your "good." This explains a lot about the way this president does business.  It also reveals his faux Christianity since, for the Christian, sin is "being out of alignment with [God's] values." Unfortunately, most of the children in our schools have been brainwashed through values clarification which means they are in sympathy with its tenets. (Just look at the statistics on cheating at places like the military academies where "honor" is supposed to rule.) Now, what do you think an election season will look like where values clarification rules the process?

FALSANI: "Do you believe in sin?"

OBAMA: "Yes."

FALSANI: "What is sin?"

OBAMA: "Being out of alignment with my values."

FALSANI: "What happens if you have sin in your life?"

OBAMA: "I think it's the same thing as the question about heaven. In the same way that if I'm true to myself and my faith that that is its own reward; when I'm not true to it, it's its own punishment."

Why Doesn't Carbonite Respect Women?

Well, treating women rudely isn't limited to Rush Limbaugh. I decided to cancel my Carbonite account after the company withdrew from sponsoring Limbaugh's program. (I agree that Rush shouldn't have used the language he did. It was stupid as well as rude, and he's smart enough he should have realized it would change the focus from the issue to him. But he apologized. Have you ever heard Bill Maher apologize for calling Sarah Palin an obscenity and insulting her children?)

Anyway, I called Carbonite this afternoon and the man (I can't call him a gentleman) who took my call asked why I was cancelling. When I told him, he said that was the stupidest think he ever heard, made a comment about how they respect people, told me to uninstall Carbonite from my computer, and hung up on me - all in a tone of absolute contempt. I was shocked!

I didn't like what Rush said, but he apologized. This man didn't call me a "stupid b***ch in so many words, but it was sure there in his tone.  And this was after telling me how Carbonite respects people - well, maybe only fornicating thirty-year-old law students.

I called back and asked to speak to a manager. They're ALL managers apparently according to the woman who assured me she was one, which, perhaps, explains the freedom to treat customers like dirt. (Hey! I've got the power!) This woman however was polite and shifted me to customer service where I cancelled my account after being told that they will not prorate my payment which renewed in January.
But after my experience today, it's worth losing the balance of my account to avoid working with a company where service reps think what's not okay for Limbaugh is okay for them.

How Long Before the Left Dumps Sandra Fluke?

The left is notorious for using people, squeezing them dry, and dropping them down the garbage chute. Sandra Fluke is enjoying her fifteen minutes of fame as, like a giggling school girl, she makes the rounds of the morning talk shows. But as more information comes out the likely scenario is that she will become an embarrassment to those who have used her to advance their agenda. Watch her get dropped like a hot potato. That's par for the course in the liberal war room. Use 'em and dump 'em.
