The face of pro-life "right-wing extremists"

There's a lot of slander about "violent" and "raging" pro-lifers with faces distorted by the "snarl of hatred" as Trinity President, Patricia McGuire, said recently. Fact is, pro-lifers are as likely to be standing quietly praying the rosary and letting pictures of the dismembered babies tell the story. But that's what the pro-abortionists can't stand because the babies' broken bodies show the moral corruption of their position.

I want to publicly thank all the courageous pro-lifers who witnessed at Notre Dame and especially those who faced arrest for their convictions. May God richly reward them all. I know the little aborted ones are begging the Blessed Mother to pray for them.

  1. I do not know anything about this nun, but I have a question. is she someone who is regularly protesting at clinics. Is Alan Keyes and Randal terry spending their Saturday mornings protesting this genocide. Is they are great.
If Alan keyes is not spending his free time on a pro life protest line , then it makes me think he is grandstanding for the cameras. In my opinion, that is not a grace filled action. Remember the pharisees who tossed gold coins into the collection basket when the widow tossed in two widow
mites. Jesus had contempt for the Pharisees who were rich and a few gold coins was no real charity on their part. The widow have all she had.

  2. It seems to me that the Pharisees are those who judge the actions of others when they do a good thing because they may benefit in some collateral way.
Jesus did not condemn those who gave gold coins (BTW you just made that up since it isn't in scripture) he condemned them for being hypocrites and declaring their property "corban" Mark 7:11. He praised the widow but didn't condemn the charity of the others, only put it in perspective.
If Alan Keyes gets some notoriety, what is that to you. Did you go to Notre Dame and protest and get arrested?

  3. most Catholics would agree the presense of a priest at a abortion clinic can be very powerful sign for some women. Exp Mexican women.
I once spent weeks trying to organize peaceful pro life prayers protests in front of Abortion clinics and assumed if a parish was only 1-2-3 blocks away, the pastor would be agreeable. Not one would join such an effort.
Even the well known diocesan priest who was called a pro life saint refused. I am too busy,he told me. I never asked twice.
so, it is my observation 99.99% of Catholics will never do any pro life protesting. Yet, place some holloywood into the mix, and they find time. My point is, folks like Keyes and Terry are stage actors.
If there were no cameras, there was no obama but Sen Dodd, and a small catholic college in southern Indiana, not one would bother. Not one. I am actively pro life, but even I see these Catholics just playing games to get thier picture in some newspaper or poster.

To me, it is the height of hypocrisy. Babies are still dying when it is 15 degrees and snowing outside on Saturday morning at 8 am in downtown Chicago. Will
    Alan join that protest.

  4. Ray, Are you a peaceful pro life protestor at these events.
what ideas do you have for getting 20,000 people to these events.

  5. Like you, I'm a bit cynical these days about the prolife movement. I used to go to all the March for Life events, in Minnesota where I was living and in Washington D.C. when I could get there. My whole family is pro-life.
As I've grown older and see how the media ignores the event and how the politicians simply pay it lip service and do almost nothing, I've grown less active, less generous with donations, and more angry.
My point was that even those who have additional motives are making a statement. What is the point of protesting where there is no news coverage? It is true you are witnessing, but to many fewer. It is true that Alan gets notoriety, but not necessarily of a useful kind. What get's coverage may make people think. You touch far fewer where there is no coverage. So I'm less cynical about Alan than you are. But I too see Alan as being out for himself at least as a secondary or perhaps even as the primary motive. How many are really different? How much time do you have to spend without much effect? Follow the spirit in your life and do what you can.

  6. One of the best ways to show the world how important life is, is to adopt. I think the holy people in the times of Jesus spent most of their time praying. I would bet plenty of pharisees were doing evil during the time of Jesus, but I never read of any apostle who decided to spent his time following a pharisee around town in order to publicly shame them. That behavior can be just as sinful. God will let the sins of the evil people to be made known publicly, real catholics have better things to do.

  7. I guess keeping hate alive is the real mission - no history degree needed. Just read the bible

  8. "just keeping hate alive" -- What are you talking about? The reality of abortion is a holocaust in our time and you have the audacity to say "hate" -- those who insist that children are a burden and pregnancy a disease to be eradicated are the ones who hate with a cold passionless hate.
I went and looked at what Alan Keyes actually said and it was clear to me it was Catholic witness and not political speech.
You seem to have a warped perspective probably due to your political agenda.

  9. I need to apologize to Anonymous since I misread his message and didn't check out his link.
Now that I have checked out his link I'm a bit bewildered about 1) why it is relevant to this thread? 2) what his message means?
Since I believe in putting my cards on the table: 1) Israel is surrounded by bitter enemies who more than once have tried to annihilate them. 2) Someone has to run Jerusalem, why not the Israelies? 3) The arabs are likely going to keep trying to kill them whatever they do, that is frankly quite obvious. So why give them anything at all?
So if "hatred" is what is on the table one has to say whose hatred?
Thomas Sowell wrote a book about discrimination and prejudice a long time ago which I read and he pointed out that the worst prejudices have historically been between those who are really quite close, the Irish, the Arabs and the Jews, any many of the tribal wars in Africa between various tribes. These things are not going to change any time soon unless original sin is overcome, not a high likelihood.

  10. Ray,

Imagine you and 250 of your relatives live in a town. you are the entire town population. 20 thugs ride into town and kill 50 of the 250 residents who lived there for hundreds of years. The other 200
people are told leave or you are next. Assume the 200 leave. wash rinse and repeat 200 times in 25 years. You tell me if the resistence to this action is terrorism. Let me tell you one thing. 99% of the international community says it is legitimate resistance. the only nations who disagree are; a.) the nation who is stealing land and b.)the nation who gives them the money and arms to do it.
Catholics who support the actions of Israel are just not informed of the historical injustices that have taken place since 1946.
If the signers of the declaration of indep were alive today, they would all reject the idea of supporting empire builders. The way these crazy policies will end is when the money runs out. Pay close attention to the bond market, it does not like what is sees and the reality is, it is too big for Ben or barrack to control.
Forget about a stock market crash, a currency crash is 1000 times more devastating.

  11. Liberty, fraternity and equality.
these are the 3 planks of freemasonry, but not catholicsm.
When alan Keyes says he is pro liberty he is telling the world he
is for a key priciple of freemasonry. vThe term is one that makes serious Catholics uncomfortable and masons laugh. Catholics do not seek liberty, but to conform their lives to the the will of God, which is prayer, sacrifice and service to fellow man. alan says we have a republican form of government. We are a Constitutional Republic. lastly, 48% of abortions are done by women who self identify as Catholic. They do not know their faith is the real reason. If our pastors would teach the faith and parents would teach the faith, half of the abortions in america would vanish. Abortion will wane as faith grows and visa versa.
As I see it, any priest or bishop who is not spending at least 20 hours per month doing his part to promote life, ( prayer, protest etc) and calls himself pro life is not sincere.

  12. I'm not an Israeli stooge. I'm an imperialist. Israel has a right to exist I think. In so far as it is intolerant of Christians and Moslems, I am not sympathetic.
There are two sides to every conflict.
Catholics believe in liberty too. It's not just a masonic concept. That is a weird idea. God did not make slaves. He made us free and asked us to voluntarily obey Him because He loves us, is wiser than we and has our best interests at heart. Failure to obey God is always a failure to do what is best for us.
I certainly agree that catechesis is horrible these days. We live in the day of cafeteria religion. Take what you like, leave the rest. Oh, that hard stuff? ... that's for chumps. If it feels good it must be right. The church of what's happening now as a friend of mine once characterized it, is in the driver's seat.
People are people no matter how small and killing them is the murder of innocents.

  13. The New Israel is the Catholic church. In the middle east are a large group of persons who come from Russia, and have declared the land in the region from the Jordan river, to the Latani river to Cairo as their property, so everyone else get out. And I am including Catholics. Since 1946 these folks have refused to formalize borders or create a constitution. They call themselves Israel, but it is an absurd label. we are talking about folks who are not semites. They have zero connection to the land. It is no different than 2 million chinese saying we are Americans. they come to Aemrica and take over the state of California. All the California people are herded into Arizona, with a big fence around it. Now imagine russia armed them to the teeth, while these displaced Americans had at best some small arms. then imagine these so called new americans, fron China, could cut off the water, electricity, food and medicine to these displaced americans suffering in Arizona, and did it often.
Of course there would be 38 million jammed into arizona while the 2,000,000 had CA to themselves. Under the claim those 38,000,000 are a threat to us, we will not let them vote, or drive in most of our neighborhoods and we will set up 2000 roadblocks which they alone have to drive through. no Catholic who realizes what is going on can support such a regime. do Catholics in America even realize how much persecution is taking place against them at the present time from these new occupiers of Palestine. Priests cannot get visas! Neither can nuns. It will get wosre, until Pope Benedict says enough is enough.

  14. I'm not sure how balanced your view is Anonymous. There are certainly abuses. If you have a quarrel it may be with the business of making Israel a state in the first place for the displaced Jews. It is certainly true that they are European Jews from the Diaspora, but this is not a Semite non-Semite issue. The Jews in Israel encouraged the immigration to create a homeland for the "Jewish people." You seem to be trying to make the case that it would be only valid if it were semites. Whether the Allies should have done it is rather another issue. They are long dead and probably didn't realize what a mess they were creating. You seem to think it might have been better otherwise ... I rather doubt it actually. Both sides are nuts and the Christians are caught in the middle. If I have to take sides and it seems like you do, then I'll take the Israeli side every time. They don't cut people's heads off on television. In fact I generally think they are pretty reasonable given the kind of people they are dealing with who send their children to commit suicide with bombs strapped on their bodies. I think you're blaming the wrong folks.

  15. sorry, you know very little aboout history. It was not Jews from Palestine who did anything. There were 50,000 who lived there among 3,000,000 Palestinains. It was peaceful. It was rather Mr. Hertzl, the father of zionism,an atheist, who did his part to push the russian Jews into Paelstine.
The plan was Jerusalem would be the capital of their kingdom and from there they would rule the world. Using the terms Jew and judaism is the smokescreen. The zionists are racist, brutal dictators. they rule the region with a IRON fist. In normal wartime conflicts, people always have an escape route. In Palestine, in Jan 09, all gates were blocked and then jets were sent in with bombs. the only way to end the conflict is to give the stolen land back. If you read about the history of Deir Yassin
    , you will understand better.
The zionists are not jews, and to be clear, it is not anti semitic to oppose their evil. Catholics are not and cannot be anti-semitic. We are the true Spiritual semites, the true Israelites of the world.
    We are God's chosen.
