None of us can read another person's minds. The FBI said they found no intent on Hillary Clinton's part to fail to protect classified (some top secret) information. Here's one bit from the FBI report:
But even if information is not marked “classified” in an email, participants who know or should know that the subject matter is classified are still obligated to protect it.So Clinton had an obligation to protect the information she so cavalierly passed on. Of more concern, however, was the fact that she LIED to Congress about using her unsecured personal server to handle classified information. If she were anyone else she would be in jail.
The Clintons' history is filled with corruption. How can anyone believe this woman is fit to be president?
There has been a great discussion of this topic on another great blog, The American Catholic, The links there have changed my mind quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteI think there is a thread of lawlessness running through civilization, and within that, America, no less than it appears to be running through various currents of the Catholic Church, from which our civilization is formed. Lawlessness. Disconnect. The will-to-power. Do whatever you please if you have the power to pull it off. Laws are there for the powerFULL to control the powerLESS.
I see that as an existential threat to America.
As discouraged as I was when I first heard the news, I am ENcouraged by the possibility that Director Comey recognizes that unlike all OTHER crimes the FBI investigates, THS crime is an existential threat to our Nation AS a Nation of Law. AS SUCH it must be resolved politically FIRST. We must decide, as a people, "who ARE we"?
I said there, and I am firm on it; IF Trump takes the ammunition provided by Director Comey's Catalogue of Errors and uses it in the debates and surrounding campaign with vigor and bravery and honesty .... He most certainly will have my vote. With profound gratitude.
It is a very big deal that he win, but ONLY if he wins in he right way for the right reasons: In defense of the Rule of Law; the only issue that matters right now, as all other issues are contained within that. We are hanging by a mere thread, IMO.
