Monday Morning Meandering: "Climate Change" and other Stuff
False prophets on the left keep blathering: Just thinking....we should all be dead by now. Paul Ehrlich, the bug scientist who predicted in the 1960s that overpopulation would kill us all by starvation is still spouting nonsense and people are still dumb enough to give him a platform including the Vatican. And then there's Al Gore whose silly movie, An Inconvenient Truth, claimed Miami and Manhattan would be underwater by now. Of course, they aren't, but that hasn't kept him from continuing to impersonate Chicken Little with a stupid sequel that is filled with errors and junk science. Just go home, Al, and take Paul with you! Let's listen to a real climate scientist, Roy Spencer.
What motivates these guys? What else...money and power. Their "science" is bunk! I wish people worried more about the climate of their souls than the non-issues of global warming and overpopulation. Love God above all and your neighbor as yourself are the answers to all our problems.
Words used to mean something and were used to enlighten. Today, as in Orwell's book 1984, they often are used in ways that mean their exact opposite. For example, the left talks about "tolerance" as they work for legislation that punishes anyone who doesn't adopt their views. They destroy the businesses of Christians who won't say that good is evil and evil is good. If that isn't intolerance, I don't know what is!
Whatever happened to civility? Today you can hardly have a conversation without it degenerating into name-calling. It makes me want to watch Jane Austin movies. Hey, everyone is made in the image and likeness of God -- even those with whom we disagree most vehemently. Disagreeing doesn't have to be disagreeable. Read Chesterton.
The best part of my week was our Sunday brunch yesterday with five adults and five children around the table enjoying each others' company. The afternoon ended with a dance party using silly songs. Try it. You can burn a few calories and raise your melatonin level with lots of smiling and laughing. We had a great time! It reminds me there is still hope for our foolish world! Look for it in the faces of children at play.
