Why We Need the Catholic Identity Conference

I signed up yesterday to watch the videos from the Catholic Identity Conference that was held in Pittsburgh earlier this month. The theme was "Uniting the Clans." Both the FSSP and the SSPX had priests speaking. To see them on the same program sharing the same podium surely emphasizes the gravity of the situation in our beloved Church. Michael Matt compared it to the different branches of our armed forces which can show incredible rivalry and disagreement among themselves until they face the common enemy when they immediately have each other's backs.

Several bishops and hundreds of clergy and laity attended to the point that the conference was sold out and others who wanted to come had to do so by signing up for the video presentations. Here's the promo video for the conference.

I've watched several videos now and am impressed with the quality of the presentations. A friend of mine who attended the conference said every speaker was riveting. Certainly Michael Matt was in his introductory talk giving us a historical perspective going back to his grandfather who founded The Wanderer. This is a conference well worth your virtual attendance. It's clear there is a war going on in the Church, one that Our Lady described during her apparitions at Akita when she said that "cardinals would be against cardinals." Is it really any surprise to see internal conflict? Think of St. Athanasius during the Arian heresy. He was excommunicated by Pope Liberius and there were many attempts on his life. I recommend the book The Father of Orthodoxy by Francis Alice Forbes which is available for free download here. It's a gripping description of the saint's life. Who was in the right? The pope or the saint? It will leave you in no doubt of the answer!

What are Catholics to make of the fact that Pope Francis seems to have closer ties to the United Nations and its leaders who are pro-abortion and pro-population control than to his own spiritual sons? Why is a pope who claims to favor transparency and respectful criticism, as well as synodality, refusing to answer legitimate questions from fellow bishops? He says he wants a "listening Church" while he refuses to listen to anyone with whom he disagrees.

Since the Amazon synod, Pope Francis sounds more and more like the liberal politicians and U.N. leaders with whom he hobnobs. Here's what he said about critics of the disgraceful Amazon Synod with its out and proud paganism (reported by Martin Barillas at LifeSiteNews):
Pope Francis said, “The idea that the Lord has among his favorites many dark-complexioned people irritates them, it puts them in a bad mood. They consider a large part of the human family as a lower-class entity, incapable, according to their standards, of achieving decent levels in spiritual and intellectual life. On this basis, contempt can develop for people considered to be second-rate,” he said, adding that “all this also emerged during the Synod of Bishops for the Amazon.”
Wow! One more zinger for his faithful children who are concerned over what is happening to our beloved Church. We are all evil racists exposing our bigotry because we oppose the worship of false gods in Rome.

As for those who claim the Synod wasn't pagan, even the indigenous people participating witnessed to the fact that it WAS, in fact, pagan:

"dark-complexioned" babies?
This is a pope who offers platforms to the likes of Bernie Sanders, Paul Ehrlich, Jeffrey Sachs and others who promote the elimination of people in the third world (and the first world) to maintain "sustainable development" and save the planet from climate change. How can a pope call his critics racists as he pals around with the richest racists on the planet who champion the murder of the innocent of all races, but especially those "dark-complexioned people" populating the third world?

They need antibiotics and anti diarrhea medicine. What are they sent? Contraceptives (sometimes included in tetanus vaccines) and abortion. How many "Friends of Francis" (including Catholic Relief Services) are up to their eyeballs in efforts to eliminate the "dark-complexioned people" of Africa, Mexico, Latin America, etc.

The hypocrisy is astounding!

Anyone who denies the war in the Church hasn't listened to the messages from Our Lady over the centuries and the warnings repeated throughout the bible in both the old and the new testament. Those opposing the actions of Pope Francis who has united himself with a godless worldly agenda (and those who promote it) are not "enemies" of the Church or the pope. They are the ones who truly love the Church and are fighting for her, begging the Holy Father to do his duty and defend the faith. We need the Catholic Identity Conference as training for the battle. Consider the videos as virtual bootcamp and pray for all those trying to "unite the clans" to engage in Mary's legion with the angels and saints to fight Satan and his minions!

"Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array." We have a twelve star general. Put on the armor of God and follow her!

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.
