Another Ban -- no Mass in West Virginia Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston!

There has not been one case of coronavirus in West Virginia. Banning the public celebration of the Mass is shameful!

What's happening around the country with Catholic dioceses shuttering their churches is so shocking it's hard to believe!

Is this the Church that served the faithful during other pandemics in history? It appears more and more that instead of being the Church Militant we are the Church namby-pamby and wimpy!

If our diocese bans the Mass I will find one if I have to drive 100 miles to get there! For those in the D.C. metro area the Canons Regular in Charles Town show no sign of ceasing their Mass schedule. And so far my own diocese, Arlington, is still offering Mass. Originally the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception said they would continue offering Mass, but they've updated and now join the herd. They will keep the Church open for private prayer but NO MASS! Frankly, with Rossi in charge I'm not surprised.

Here's what Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, the Red Rose Rescue priest, wrote on his Facebook page. I totally agree:
It can’t get any darker than this. I just received word that all Church services (since when do we have mere services) in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe have been canceled till further notice. To my knowledge this is unprecedented in the history of the Church. In the darkest days of history through the centuries, when the world was in physical crisis, the Church was there ministering spiritually and physically to those in need even at the risk of self infliction and even death. The Churches should be open and the sacraments should be available now more than ever. Dark day in Church history. I am deeply saddened. I am heading to NJ for a parish Lenten mission that most likely won’t happen. Imagine! Has there been a time when public Masses ceased? This will set a precedent that we will come to rue! Jesus, have mercy on us.
How many will get in the habit of not going to Mass and never return? Already only a small percentage of Catholics attend Mass on Sundays. This hysteria will result in lower Mass attendance and more nones!

Who benefits in all this? Satan! That the Church is becoming his enabler is sad and shameful.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Our Lady, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us.

St. Joseph, patron of the universal Church, pray for us.

St. John Vianney, patron of parish priests, pray for us.
