Mother Angelica was hopping mad about it. And in retrospect, was this deliberate abomination an early move to soften us up to accept the radicalism of "gender fluidity" that's grown in the past thirty years to become a major threat against our children?
Don't be silly, you are probably thinking. The "transgender" movement is recent, only the past few years.
Really? Think again. Here's a bit from a timeline on Wickipedia which begins in ancient Rome. But I won't go back that far:
- 1952 – Christine Jorgensen becomes the first widely-publicized person to have undergone sex reassignment surgery, in this case male to female, creating a world-wide sensation.[39]
- 1953 -- Danish endocrinologist Christian Hamburger publishes one of the earliest reports on hormone therapy in transgender women,[41] effective pharmaceutical female sex-hormonal medications having been available since the 1920s and 1930s.[42]
- 1954 – The gender transition of Roberta Cowell, a British pilot during World War II, is reported internationally by the Associated Press. She also appeared that month on the cover of Picture Post, a then-popular magazine in the United Kingdom.[43][44]
- 1957 – The term "Transsexual" is used by U.S. physician Harry Benjamin in a public lecture.[45]
- 1965 – The term transgender is coined by psychiatrist John F. Oliven of Columbia University in his 1965 reference work Sexual Hygiene and Pathology.[
- 1972 – Sweden becomes the first country in the world to allow transgender people to legally change their sex, and provides free hormone therapy;[54]
- 1980 -- The Human Rights Campaign Fund is founded by Steve Endean; the Human Rights Campaign is now America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.[58]
2004
- first all-transgender performance of The Vagina Monologues was held. The monologues were read by eighteen notable transgender women, and a new monologue revolving around the experiences and struggles of transgender women was included.[77]
- Luna, by Julie Anne Peters, was published, and was the first young-adult novel with a transgender character to be released by a mainstream publisher.[78]
- 2013 A six-year-old girl named Luana, who was assigned male at birth, became the first transgender child in Argentina to have her new name officially changed on her identity documents.[132] She is believed to be the youngest to benefit from the country's new Gender Identity Law, which was approved in May 2012.[132]
And of course it just gets more aggressive and targets children. Our daughter who is over 40 had a friend in high school who was already claiming to be bi-sexual. It was kind of a fad at the local public high school. She later lived out her fantasy: married a man, divorced, and ended in a same-sex relationship, and gave birth to twins. I have no idea who the father was.
The LGBTQ community has been after our kids for decades. The number of kids identifying as "transgender" is growing. Of course it is. School counselors encourage kids to hide their "transgender" identity from their parents.
What's not on the timeline is the tragic story of David Reimer whose gender was "reassigned" by psychiatrist John Money after his penis was irreperably damaged during circumcision. Money convinced the parents to raise the boy, a twin, as a girl. He only learned as a teenager the lie of his life. Money's ghoulish experiment included molesting the twins during their annual appointment where he played sex games with them. Both twins ended up committing suicide.
Much of what's happening today lies at the feet of evil people in the medical profession, in education, in media, etc. Of course, parents who go along with the insanity cooperate in the evil, sometimes out of ignorance, sometimes because they embrace the evil ideology.
Our children have targets on their backs. They are targeted in the classroom as Libs of TikTok illustrates. They are targeted by doctors as Matt Walsh showed in his documentary What is a Woman.
Hat tip to Fr. Z for posting Mother Angelica's video where I saw it.
It's a very sick world.
