I’ve really enjoyed this series Mary Ann, thank you. Love his papacy or not, and I hope everyone is still praying for his soul, Pope Benedict XVI was spot-on in his prophecy here. I’m visiting family out of state right now, and in a couple of hours, will drive past several Churches to attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at an SSPX Chapel. I do so without apology.

ReplyDeleteI am not so fortunate in that my diocese is very hostile to the ursus antiquitor. The SSPX comes to our area once a month and I will not attend the “Minstrel Show” mass in my area. But next week is Mass week with the SSPX. God bless you Mary Ann.

The Pope, Vicar of Christ, Viceroy of Heaven (I’ve started using that title since it helps me understand better the phrase “Vicar of Christ”), is connected directly to Jesus Christ within the Holy Trinity through the Papal Office. Christ speaks to His Bride, the members of His Body, through this man in this Office. We recognize Our Lord, we hear His voice, and we follow Him.

These words you quote here are well known and actually a comfort to me as they speak of the storm we all see, but that the Lord God is with us, we need not fear the trial.

The choice of LeFebvre is now the choice of Strickland … will soon be the choice (I have little doubt) of myself, my family, every Catholic everywhere. There is no hiding from this conflict. Who do you serve? Who do you say “I am”?
The fields are being burned to the ground, as Pope Benedict XVI foretold. It will not be pleasant, and no Catholic will be spared … by definition of the prophetic statement, we will all be tried by fire. Know the Faith. Love the Faith. Stay in the Ark. Stick to Sacred Tradition and the Creeds. Love Jesus more than your self and your security, your comforts … Jesus, Mary, Heaven, saving souls … only this.
Bishop Strickland seems to be at peace. Be prepared, peace requires preparation.
Side note: I met Bishop Strickland in BBC an airport soon after his Consecration to Bishop … I was still a relatively new Catholic. I didn’t know he was a Bishop, until the end of our conversation. I only knew he was a Priest and that was enough for me to enthusiastically engage him in conversation. I brought nothing to the conversation but enthusiasm, and he kindly shared his time with me. My impression: solid man, courteous, kind, intelligent, deep, austere, a military bearing.

Since Ratzinger had so much to do w/what happened to the church including the excom of +L, is it not a statment of intent/plan? What I found most chilling about it, is that Ratzinger foresaw the 'reforms' of Luther and Escriva regarding the priesthood and that ALL of us would be living in a "totally planned" (1984) society.
On the Priesthood: "Undoubtedly it will discover new forms of ministry and will ordain to the PRIESTHOOD approved Christians (what is an "approved Christian"? does it include women) who pursue some profession (opus dei). In many smaller congregations or in self-contained social groups, pastoral care will normally be provided in this fashion. Along-side this, the full-time ministry of the priesthood will be indispensable as formerly (sounds like someone added this sentence for orthodoxy because full-time ministry is incompatible w/the small, poor (can't support priests) church that isn't occupying all the bldgs they've sold off to pay for "the narcotic of some pleasure or other" --Lifesite News reveals one secretary's public sodomy but covers for the other and the vice that brought about his resignation).
Perhaps why the vatican is so busy supporting vaccinating and locking us down like cattle: "Men in a totally planned world will find themselves unspeakably lonely"
on the Church: "in the presence of the [?Holy?] Spirit until the end of the world."
On the sacraments (which are a sign instituted by Christ to give grace). "In faith and prayer she will again recognize the sacraments as the worship of God and not as a subject for liturgical scholarship."
Ratz/Francis: "or from those who merely criticize others and assume that they themselves are infallible" and here "The process will be all the more arduous, for sectarian narrow-mindedness as well as pompous self-will will have to be shed."

TIA has something about this today: "Authority Supplanted by ‘Service’" (but it is also the Faith and the sacraments (giving grace) which has been erased) in this idea of the priest as an accompanier of man rather than a servant of God to do the great commission that Jesus Christ gave the priesthood when He instituted it at the Last Supper and when He ascended into heaven.
