Fraud Deniers -- Or How to Steal Elections...

...while accusing your opponents of racism.

The left are experts on fraud. They have institutionalized it. 

In an article at American Thinker, Matthew Vadum describes the claim that there is no fraud a modern "myth":

Left-wing activists and think-tanks constantly churn out studies and reports financed by George Soros, purporting to prove that voter fraud is as unreal as Cookie Monster. They claim that those on the right want to crack down on voter fraud solely as a means of preventing the poor and minorities from voting. 

"Nobody claimed that voter fraud was a myth until the last couple of years," my work colleague at Capital Research Center, Dr. Steven J. Allen, J.D., Ph.D., told me.
As Allen, who grew up amidst Alabama's dubious politics many decades ago, observes:

Everyone in politics openly discussed voter fraud for hundreds of years of American history. Politicians, political reporters, and everyone involved in politics openly discussed how widespread voter fraud was. Only when Republicans took over legislatures in states that had long been ruled by Democrats and where fraud was prevalent and began to do something about this problem did this myth emerge that voter fraud was nonexistent. So, did we lose? Did we even have a horse in this race? I don’t know...probably not. I think most of us were just making the best of a desperate situation by attempting to buy some time and praying America would wake up in the meantime. But if waking America from her slumber was the objective, then that mission was accomplished for at least half the country the moment Ohio was declared for Barack Obama. In other words, we're not alone! 

For the next four years at least, millions of Americans will stand fast against the Godless policies of Washington, D.C.—policies which, again, let’s face it, on the issues that matter most to the soul of our country and the future of our children would have changed only minimally had the well-meaning Mormon been victorious and the so-called Christian right been once again cajoled into peaceful coexistence with the forces of hell itself.

So, to recap: We lost a race in which we really didn’t have a pony. And, as a result of that "defeat", millions of Americans had their blinders removed in an instant on November 6, 2012. They now know exactly where they stand. The slumbering Christian giant in America has finally roused himself from his utopian dreams.

Obama represents our chastisement, perhaps, but certainly not our conqueror. His victory may well lead to our redemption, in fact, both as Catholics and as Americans. Four more years of Obama may mean that America will have to suffer, but perhaps she will also begin to find her soul again… and her knees. Then Americans will have a chance to be truly free--something they haven't known for many, many decades.

Church Militant Assesses the Election Data

Keep praying. Does your parish have a holy hour or a prayer vigil or all night adoration tonight? I hope so. We're having a holy hour in my parish and my husband and I plan to be there. And we'll be on our knees at adoration tomorrow in front of our Blessed Savior at least part of the day while the polls are open. We plan to pray the 20-decade rosary begging Our Lady's intercession for the outcome of the election. My special intention will be for our children and grandchildren who have a lot longer to live in this post Christian nation than Larry and I do. And so I pray from psalm 10 with hope and confidence:

Why, O Lord, do you stand aloof?
Why hide in times of distress?
Proudly the wicked harass the afflicted,
who are caught in the devices the wicked have contrived.
For the wicked man glories in his greed,
and the covetous blasphemes, sets the Lord at nought. 

The wicked man boasts, "He will not avenge it"' "There is no God," sums up his thoughts.
His ways are secure at all times;
your judgments are far from his mind;
all his foes he scorns.
He says in his heart, "I shall not be disturbed;
from age to age I shall be without misfortune.".... 

You do see [O, Lord], for you behold misery and sorrow,
taking them in your hands.
On you the unfortunate man depends;
of the fatherless you are the helper.
Break the strength of the wicked and of the evildoer;
punish their wickedness.... 

The desire of the afflicted you hear, O Lord;

As St. Padre Pio often said, "Pray, hope, and don't worry." Psalm 11 follows the picture of the evil man and urges unshaken confidence in God ending with, "For the Lord is just, he loves just deeds; the upright shall see his face."

Obama is "of earth." Never fear the man of earth who can only kill the body, but fear God who can cast the soul into hell. And pray for those who put their souls in eternal jeopardy by their vote tomorrow, especially heretical Catholics like the members of Catholics for Obama, Catholics United, and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, as well as the Nuns on the Bus. Their scandalous actions will cry out against them on the day of judgment. May God have mercy on them.

Beware the "Lesser of Two Evils" Trap

A thought-provoking article from David Kupelian about how the Founders chose the "lesser of two evils" to prevent our constitutional republic from being strangled in the cradle.

So if, rather than casting your ballot for Romney/Ryan, you vote for a third-party presidential candidate like the Libertarian Party’s Gary Johnson or the Constitution Party’s Virgil Goode, or write in some name like “Jesus” or “God” or “Ron Paul” (I cite these examples since some people are claiming this is how they will cast their vote for president), or if you refuse to vote, you are knowingly contributing to the continued reign of Barack Obama, the most catastrophic president in history, whose actions of late have bordered on treason and who has almost destroyed America in four years and will complete the job in four more.

Intrinsic Evils, the Catholic Vote, and the Voices of Babies Waiting to be Born

I'm engaged as an onlooker and sometime participant in an email discussion about the merits of the Obama/Biden vs Romney/Ryan tickets with regard to how a Catholic should vote when both candidates support intrinsic evils. I have myself been guilty of over-simplifying the picture as I did in an earlier post. But the question is, at what point is abstaining from the process altogether (at least in the national election) or voting for a third-party candidate with no chance of winning legitimate? If the little ones in the womb could speak, how would they want us to vote?

I decided to examine the two presidential candidates' positions with respect to intrinsic evils. But first the definition: an intrinsically evil act is one that is always evil no matter the circumstances. The life issues are the most obvious cases involving intrinsic evil. There is nothing that can make an abortion acceptable - ever! It is always, in every circumstance, evil.    Someone may object that the Church allows the removal of an ectopic pregnancy or a cancerous uterus even during pregnancy. But those acts are NOT abortions. In both cases, a diseased organ is removed, i.e., the uterus or the fallopian tube and the baby unhappily cannot be saved. But there is nothing done to directly kill the baby and, if technology ever provides artificial wombs, those babies can be saved. Essentially, that is the principle of double effect where the evil that occurs (the death of the child) is not sought or intended.

Other examples of intrinsic evils are embryonic stem cell research which kills a baby at an early stage to cannibalize his cells for the "good" of others who may benefit from research; removing essential, unpaired organs from a still living organ donor causing premature death; both active and passive euthanasia to hasten the death of a person who may or may not be dying; murder (defined as the deliberate killing of an innocent person; and homosexual sex. Obviously forcing others, or attempting to force others, to engage in intrinsic evils also falls into the category of intrinsic evils. None of these acts can ever be justified in any circumstance.

If you compare the two tickets and the positions of the parties, it becomes clear as crystal which team is more committed to intrinsic evil. The Republican platform supports NO intrinsic evils; the Democrat platform includes several. Obama supports: abortion on demand, infanticide by neglect of babies who survive abortion, embryonic stem cell research, federal funding of Planned Parenthood (which has spent millions on political ads for Obama), exporting abortion to foreign countries, taxpayer funding of contraception including abortifacients mislabeled as contraceptives, violation of freedom of religion and conscience rights including forcing Catholic organizations to provide moral evils in their health plans. Obama also supports same-sex "marriage."

Can We Trust the Vote?

This article is pretty chilling when you consider the words of Stalin that it doesn't matter who votes, only who counts the vote. The comment in the article I found particularly disturbing was that Christianity "is systematically [being] replaced by another religion, which worships a different God." Pope Benedict wrote in Truth and Tolerance that wherever politics tries to do the work of God it becomes, not divine, but demonic.  It's easy to see the demonic in our culture of death which creates an environment where man is reduced more and more to the level of a beast or a cog in a machine. Now the question is, what can we, as Catholic Christians, do about it?

Obama or Romney: What a Hellish Choice!

Did you hear what he said? Abortion for rape and incest and "health and life of the mother." That is  Roe v. Wade and it equals abortion on demand. In Doe v. Bolton, the companion decision, the court defined the woman's "health" to include physical health, mental health, the woman's family situation, and her age. To sum up, it was abortion in the first three months for no reason; abortion in the last six for any reason. Unborn babies are just so much trash to both presidential candidates. Romney is one of the men C.S. Lewis described as "without chests." He has no heart and he appears to use his intellect to reason out whatever position is necessary to get elected. (Obama too, of course.) I'm guessing Romney embraces this position to make himself more palatable to the "women's vote." But to pro-life women, his position is repulsive and repugnant. To watch a grown man smile as he supports the murder of little babies is to see a bully at work.

Let's face it, politics seems to demolish virtue and magnanimity among men and make them bullying cowards. This was certainly a low moment for Romney. He also appears to have a death wish. Can he really believe that pro-lifers are so mindless they will support him no matter what he says? Ah...but they have no place to go? Some disagree. Dale Ahlquist, President of the American Chesterton Society, wrote in a recent issue of the Chesterton Review that he will not vote for Romney. The magazine is not on line, but here's an interesting post about the article which I have not read but hope to since I respect Dale's opinion.

Obama or Romney what a Morton's fork! God help us with these two despicable candidates as America's choice for president. May Our Savior give all voters wisdom and understanding as they go to the polls and rescue us from venal men.
