Fulton Sheen remains will move to Peoria, NY archdiocese says

After three years of litigation and beaucoup bucks paid to high profile lawyers, Cardinal Dolan and the Archdiocese of New York lost the final appeal to keep the remains of Archbishop Fulton Sheen in New York. It would be interesting to know the rationale behind New York's decision to renege on a 2002 agreement to allow the move, since they had no interest in pursing Sheen's cause for sainthood.

More has come out from Peoria about the despicable actions of the Archdiocese of New York with regard to the canonization process for Fulton Sheen by the Diocese of Peoria after New York expressed no interest. Funny how things changed after a miracle occurred.

In view of all Cardinal Dolan's other scandals, breaking a few promises to another bishop may appear trivial, but I'd say his actions further illustrate the man. As scripture says, if you can trust a man in small things, you can trust him in greater. Would you buy a used car from Cardinal Dolan?

New York Archdiocese Retaliates against Priest

I'm not surprised by this. Too many bishops today act like tyrannical monarchs who will not brook anything that smacks of criticism. Funny how two thirds of the bishops had no problem covering up the abuse problem and moving the pederast around. The double standard  described by Dietrich von Hildebrand in The Devastate Vineyard continues:

The drivel of heretics, both priests and laymen, is tolerated; the bishops tacitly acquiesce to the poisoning of the faithful. But they want to silence the faithful believers who take up the cause of orthodoxy.

Pray for Wylie and for Cardinal Dolan who has much for which to answer.

Here's what my friend Fr. Tom thinks of Obama being invited to the Al Smith dinner by the Archdiocese of New York:

 It is sad to see how Cardinal Dolan has allowed Obama and other pro-active supporters of abortion to be speakers at the Al Smith Dinner. I guess that, in the long run, some Church leaders feel that it is OK for politicians to kill our babies, just so long as they also fill our coffers. With inflation, the value of thirty pieces of silver seems to have gone up to
billions in government matching funds for social justice programs that exclude those designated to be victims of "choice".

The dishonesty of this is absolutely breathtaking. No wonder the bishops in the United States are held in such low esteem when they play games like this. People recognized Jesus as the Messiah because He acted with authority. When will we see that authority reflected in the successors of the Apostles?
