Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation, gave a talk at Hillsdale College in October that was featured in the October Imprimis titled "Populist Conservatism and Constitutional Order." What I particularly appreciated about the piece, was the fact that it wasn't simply a long lament about our problems. Roberts offered practical solutions that could set the United States back on a constitutional path.

Near misses and close calls in the air are on the rise! Could DEI be the reason?

When you call a plumber or hire a mechanic, or someone to build your house, do you care what color his skin is or just how good he is at his job? The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) crowd care. That's why the woman who runs the Department of Energy has almost no background in anything that matters. A soil geologist with no expertise in physics, no knowledge of nuclear power is running the nation's science programs. What is she good at? Wokism illustrated by puplishing on things like "A Critical Feminist Approach to Transforming Workplace Climate." Yikes! Here appointment testifies to the stupidity of the DEI tyranny! We can all look forward to being sicker, dumber, and less safe thanks to DEI!

We never stop learning from the time we are in the womb where we can hear our mother's heartbeat and her voice. A child is born having an intellect infused with the natural law and the gift of free will. The intellect was given to us to study the world and recognize and learn the truth. Our free will was given to us, not to choose to do whatever we want, right or wrong, but to choose the true, the good and the beautiful, in other words, to choose the will of our Creator.

I’m a big fan of Mark Steyn and always enjoy his guest host appearances on Tucker Carlson Tonight. I’m also a big fan of Hillsdale College which takes no federal money and sends out a fascinating monthly publication called Imprimis featuring an article by a politician, pundit, etc. So when I got the April/May issue with an article by Mark Steyn I felt doubly blessed. One portion of the article pressed my “culture is insane” button so I’ll share it. (Actually, most of the article did, but one portion especially about the border situation):

I'm reading an interesting article this morning from Hillsdale College's Imprimis. (By the way, if you never studied Latin, imprimis means "among the first things.") 

The article, Science, Politics and COVID: Will Truth Prevail? was authored by Scott Atlas, who worked on the Trump administration's Coronavirus Task Force until he was defamed and drummed out by the anti-science idealogues and their no-nothing media allies!
