Is Jimmy Carter Channeling Saul Alinsky?

The community organizers are at it again...or still. Jimmy Carter is the latest liberal clone beating the drum that opposing Obama's policies proves you are a racist. (Hmm...does that include the black conservatives in the movement?)

Carter appears be channeling Saul Alinsky. Here's a little of what the famous rebel espoused. Quotes are taken from Rules for Radicals.

First of all, Alinsky was a true secular humanist who believed in nothing but the accumulation of power. Like most liberals he believed there is no such thing as truth. "An organizer working in and for an open society is in an ideological dilemma to begin with, he does not have a fixed truth -- truth to him is relative and changing; everything to him is relative and changing.... To the extent that he is free from the shackles of dogma, he can respond to the realities of the widely different situations." Carter, who left his Church recently, has always been a moral relativist, able to justify almost anything despite it opposing the Christian faith he professes.

Since the Alinsky organizer does not believe in truth and his only God is power, his ethics are Machiavellian: "The third rule of ethics of means and ends is that in war the end justifies almost any means...." And also: "The seventh rule... is that generally success or failure is a mighty determinant of ethics...." In other words, "Might proves right." So if you lie, cheat, spread slanderous and false rumors about "the enemy," you are justified as long as it moves you toward the goal. Bingo! Does Carter really believe that all those opposing Obama are racists or is this simply a convenient tactic?

Positioning yourself on the moral high ground is one of the most insidious rules in the playbook. "Do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments." On target again. Carter is attempting to take the moral high ground by labeling all those who oppose Obama's government takeover as racists. It fits with another Alinsky tactic, "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." We know who the target is - conservative Americans who love the Constitution and want it upheld by government. Carter, the mainstream media, liberal politicians, etc. are all engaging in "freezing the target." They attempt to paint those who disagree with Obama's policies as extremist, racist, dangerous, anti-government, gun-toting, Southern, rednecks. Look at the rhetoric and recognize the tactic. If you repeat a lie long enough, as Joseph Goebbels knew, many people will chant the mantra. Carter has just become the highest profile cheerleader for the lie.

Do you think Obama/Carter are unhappy with the current hostile atmosphere being created in the country? Think again! Remember, Obama is a community organizer first. Alinsky says, "The first step in community organization is community disorganization....Present arrangements must be disorganized if they are to be displace by new patterns.... All change means disorganization of the old and organization of the new." Hostility and tension carry the plan forward.

Alinsky goes further. "The job then is getting the people to move, to act, to participate; in short, to develop and harness the necessary power to effectively conflict with the prevailing patterns and change them. When those prominent in the status quo turn and label you an 'agitator' they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function—to agitate to the point of conflict."

Playing the race card is a manipulation. "[The organizer] must create a mechanism that can drain off the underlying guilt [of bleeding-heart liberals] for having accepted the previous situation for so long a time." Who are they trying to manipulate? Not the conservative, tea party patriots, that's for sure, but their liberal base. The real racists are the organized agitators who keep their useful lackeys on the liberal plantation stirred up and ready to attack THOSE RACIST, REDNECK, SOUTHERN BIGOTS.

Why is this the most divisive president we've ever seen? Do you recall any president who so often attacked good-hearted, patriotic Americans as this man has? It's not an accident. Obama is an Alinsky organizer and he and his allies (or useful idiots) like Carter are following the rules.

Things are unlikely to calm down because another important Alinsky rule is, "Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose." Obama has plans now to circulate among his media adorers with a string of appearances on TV talk shows. Hopefully, the dumbing down of the American people, which I believe is deliberate, will work against him here. The thirty-second attention span of many viewers may make them sick to death of seeing Obama's pretty face once again going "yadda, yadda, yadda."

Read Rules for Radicals. If you want to combat Madison Avenue's manipulative advertising tactics, you need to know what they are. If you want to combat the community organizer's plans you need to know when he's trying to "freeze, personalize, and polarize" you.

Maybe we need to develop our own book of rules for fighting the radicals. We have a good start already -- The Ten Commandments and the Eight Beatitudes. Our standard bearer is Christ the King. Our boot camp is in Church.

As for Jimmy Carter, his statements about racism, whether misguided or deliberately provocative, indicate he is willing to slander good Americans to advance the liberal agenda. It reflects badly on him and puts him squarely in the camp of Saul Alinsky and those willing to use any immoral means to a bad end. Shame on you, Jimmy, you should have stuck with peanut farming.

Carter 'Racism' Claim Draws Widespread Criticism

Look...up in the Sky... it's a bird... it's a plane... it's a Carter Clone!

Barack Obama has apparently never considered the danger of overexposure. Viewers to his televised press conferences have dropped progressively and so has traffic to his website. A perpetual campaigner, Obama seems to think he can generate the enthusiasm of a rock star whenever he opens his mouth. Poll results show his popularity in continuous decline as the American people learn more about the bailouts, the government takeover of health care, and the ham-fisted way this administration operates. The president's flagging popularity is good news for conservatives. The best government is one that doesn't do any more damage. And the Obama/Pelosi team have done enough already!

Let's hope the downward trends continue and opposition to Obama's liberal policies increases. Even the Washington Post ran an article last week comparing the president to Jimmy Carter and his failed one-term administration. Carter was naive in foreign policy and a disaster at home. Remember the lines at the gas pumps, runaway inflation, and high unemployment. Get ready for a repeat with Carter's liberal clone. May history repeat itself also in the length of time Obama stays in office trashing America.

Pray for our country and for an increase in conservatives to defend her -- while there is still something to conserve.

Should We Respect These Elders?

Have you heard of "the Elders?" They are a group of international big names who have been selected for their self-proclaimed "collective wisdom." Among them are former Secretary General of the U.N. Kofi Annon, former president Jimmy Carter, former Irish president Mary Robinson, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and a handful of others. According to their website they were convened in 2007 by Nelson Mandela to "offer their experience and support for peace building and collaborative approaches to addressing major causes of human suffering."

How do they work? "The Elders are committed to listening to the views of all groups and individuals – and especially women and young people....The Elders amplify the voices of those who work hard to be heard, challenge injustice, stimulate dialogue and debate and help others to work for positive change in their societies."

In their website video Kofi Annon says of the elders (including himself), "They do not have careers to build, elections to wins, constituents to please. They can talk to anyone they please and are free to follow any paths they deem right." The elders then, are being promoted as an independent group of wise leaders able to advise the global village to solve the problems of mankind. Religion has little role in this enterprise. In fact, the elders see it as a primary oppressor of women and a source of many of mankind's problems.

This is particularly evident in the discussion of one of the main issues listed on the website, "equality of women and girls." The page addressing the issue specifically targets religion as a source of discrimination. Jimmy Carter, writing in his role as an elder, elaborated on this recently when he quit the Southern Baptist Convention because of their position against ordaining women as deacons and pastors. In a commentary article in The Age, an Australian Newspaper, he made it clear that religions that will not ordain women are antiquated and discriminatory. "The carefully selected verses found in the Holy Scriptures to justify the superiority of men," Carter wrote, "owe more to time and place - and the determination of male leaders to hold onto their influence - than eternal truths." This was clearly a swipe at all faiths, including the Catholic Church, that do not ordain women. It is the same language adopted by feminist groups advocating women priests.

Carter also used not so coded language to attack the Church for its opposition to abortion. "The belief that women must be subjugated to the wishes of men excuses slavery, violence, forced prostitution, genital mutilation and national laws that omit rape as a crime. But it also costs many millions of girls and women control over their own bodies and lives." While the Elders' website carries nothing about abortion, the language that fills U.N. documents about women "controlling their bodies" and women's reproductive rights should concern anyone about the ultimate goals of this group, especially since many are well known for their abortion advocacy. Jimmy Carter, Mary Robinson, Kofi Annon, Desmond Tutu, and Nelson Mandela all have extreme pro-abortion backgrounds.

In fact, the Elders looks like one more group of elitist ideologues who believe that human effort can bring about Utopia. Their cumulutive record of pro-abortion and pro-population control politics makes it questionable whether they really have the interests of individual people at heart. As Screwtape, C.S. Lewis' senior devil, always advised his nephew Wormwood, keep man's attention on humanity as a whole and he'll overlook the hungry man next door.

Deja Vu - Remember the Peanut Farmer?

Many Americans who voted for Barrack Obama are too young to remember the peanut farmer from Plains. Jimmy Carter is a top contender for worst president in U.S. history. He contributed to the disaster in the middle east by turning Iran from an ally into a deadly enemy when he abandoned the Shah and let Islamic fundamentalists take over under Ayatollah Khomeini. His twiddling after the invasion of the American embassy and hostage crisis made America appear to be a puny weakling in the eyes of the world. It took Carter five months to even respond to Iran's act of war and suspend diplomatic relations. He gave away the Panama Canal which was built and paid for with America's blood, sweat, and tears. His weakness contributed to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

Carter's disastrous domestic policies gave us price controls, long lines at the gas pumps, and two new federal agencies. The Department of Energy he created was supposed to make us energy independent. Thirty years later what do we have to show for it except another bloated bureaucracy? He also raised up a Leviathan in the federal Department of Education that has busily interfered with the states ever since.

Despite his four-year folly, Carter seems to have met his match. Obama and gang are proving to be so inept they almost make Carter look competent. The president's conduct of the recent visit from Britain's prime minister was embarrassing. State Department officials managed to create a situation that looked like a deliberate snub to the U.K. Whether you like Brown or not he represents a country that has more often been friend than foe. What's the point of gratuitous alienation? But maybe it was accidental which illustrates that the man we've been told is the smartest on the planet hasn't got a clue about foreign policy or even common courtesy. Brad Pitt got treated better at the White House. Perhaps the president would benefit from a quick read of The Ugly American. (The movie with Marlon Brando is terrible; I don't recommend it.)

Is the U.S. safe with Obama at the helm as North Korea steps up war talk and the Saudis he released from Guantanamo Bay return to active terrorist operations? Is his plan under the spending bill to allow more immigrants from Muslim countries that hate us going to make America more secure?

Our adversaries are looking for slip-ups and there seem to be plenty in these early days of the Obama presidency. Time will tell whether Obama will go the way of Carter who entered the White House with an approval rating of 66% and in only four years dropped to 34%. Carter almost single-handedly swept Ronald Reagan into office. Reagan, in what was predicted to be a cliffhanger, carried 44 states and beat Carter in the electoral college 489 to 49. Now is the time for the rise of real conservatives, not liberal wannabes dressed in conservative sheepskin. Read the constitution. It will help you recognize true conservatives when they appear.

By the way, Carter and Obama had one other thing in common - they both were darlings of the mainstream media. Obviously that wasn't enough for Carter. Will it be for Obama?

P.S. No offense to peanut farmers or farmers in general who are typically smarter than professional politicians. In fact, one of my favorite stories is about the lesson a farmer, Horatio Bunce, taught Davy Crockett when he was serving in the U.S. Congress, about Constitutional government. Crockett later penned these words about his political brethren. "Money with them is nothing but trash when it is to come out of the people. But it is the one great thing for which most of them are striving, and many of them sacrifice honor, integrity, and justice to obtain it." Why is it that most of the Founding Fathers died paupers but politicians today go to Congress and make a fortune? Ask Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd?
