Guest Post: Dr. King’s Response to Those Who Fear Red Rose Rescues

We welcome our guest author today who is writing about the "Red Rose Rescues" a peaceful movement to offer mothers in abortion centers the support to carry their babies to term. These peaceful pro-lifers go into the abortion facilities and give the mothers red roses, the symbol of precious babies in the womb, with a promise of assistance and a list of resources. Please read and share. Only when we begin to act like abortion is the tragedy it is and are willing to risk our own lives and freedom for the little ones and their moms will things change. The sacrifice of those who stand in unity with the infants, the tiniest of God's least ones, is the yeast that will leaven the culture of life and make it grow and spread. God bless all the dear ones participating in the Red Rose Rescues! I pray for the courage and energy to rejoin the rescue movement personally.

For reasons not overly obscure the Orwell memory hole of our era has chosen to bury the most extensive and popular expression of non-violent civil resistance in American history: it nonetheless remains that in terms of incidents, arrests, and incarceration no other social struggle against injustice in this country comes remotely close to the movement that began even before Roe v. Wade, and came to be known as Operation Rescue.

Yet while it has never died out altogether, the popular quality that saw nearly 100,000 Americans arrested for rescue between 1988 and 1991 faded for numerous reasons by 1992:

After dedicating his life to eradicating segregation, would Martin Luther King be thrilled by black students today demanding segregated dorms and spaces?

I'm glad Donald Trump is being tough with the Korean dictator, but I wish he'd stop calling him "rocket man." It's funny, but poking a madman may not be too prudent. It's kind of like poking a mad dog with a stick.

 Just wondering: Will Pope Francis respond to the 62 signatories, clergy and laity, who issued a "filial correction" for his "propagating heresies" or will he give them the Dubia treatment?

The niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Dr. Alveda King,  is being attacked for daring to walk off the liberal plantation and work with conservatives to restore honor to this country.
