They're Baaaaaaaack! The Next Wave of Wuhan Fear-Mongering is Here!

My parish in Woodstock posted and sent out a message yesterday that the meeting for parents about the start of religious education was cancelled. Here's what appeared on our parish website:

Attention CCD Families:

The Parent Meeting scheduled for 8/29/2021
has been CANCELLED due to
COVID safety concerns.

For those families registered,
the program calendar will be sent by email next week.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Can't say I was surprised.

Wearing my WOMEN FOR TRUMP mask from Florida to Montana and back

My mask of choice to irritate the demons requiring us to wear them is a WOMEN FOR TRUMP mask. One day, a few months ago, I was in the local grocery store mask free; the immediate next day there was a sign on the door saying that masks were required in order to shop there, just like it says in the Bible that we have to be stamped with the Mark of the Beast in order to buy and sell. Incredibly incensed at being forced to wear a mask, I thought if I had to wear one to shop where I had always shopped I would wear a Trump mask. So I drove down the highway to the "Trump seller" by the side of the road and bought a WOMEN FOR TRUMP mask, returned to the grocery store, slapped it on my face and went in. Unknown to me at the time, my mask adventures had begun.

Thoughts for Thursday! On COVID 19, Masks, and Camp Kreitzer

Who is that masked man and why doesn't he
practice proper socially distancing?
  • My husband and I start the morning each day with Mass. Only nine pews aren't blocked off in the entire church. Several people come in masked, but most of those who wear masks only put them on once Mass begins. I find that puzzling. Does the virus start flying around the church with the angels once Father rings the bell to announce the start of Mass? Is there no danger of contracting the virus or passing it along before Mass begins? Really...I'm just trying to figure out the logic. No one is closer than eight or ten feet except family groups and most in the church are more like 20 feet apart. Are people really masking because of the virus, or is something else going on?  (Read more...)
