Another Monday: But Not an Ordinary One

No indeed. This is no ordinary Monday. It begins the week leading up to the SSPX consecration of bishops on Wednesday, July first. In 1988 Archbishop Lefebvre consecrated four bishops calling the event Operation Survival. The traditional Mass and sacraments likely would have disappeared without his actions. One could call the Wednesday consecrations Operation Survival Redux. It's a sad thing that the Vatican let it come to this, but the pope and Cardinal Fernandez have shown their willingness to allow and even enable dissent and heresy while they punish orthodoxy.

I began my day with morning prayer and reading from the Credo Catechism by Bishop Athanasius Schneider. I'm in the section on faith, a providential place to be this week.

I Disagree With Dr Edmund Mazza on Two Points re Russia & Mary (& Fatima)

Great Coat of Arms
Russian Empire 1721 - 1917

I disagree with Dr Edmund Mazza on two points given in his five part presentation, Russia & Mary: War & Peace (& Fatima).

1) The first disagreement I have, or first point up for discussion, with Dr Mazza is that at Fatima Our Lady never said anything about Russia converting to the Catholic faith. She actually never said the words "conversion of Russia" at all. She said the "Consecration of Russia" and that if the Consecration were done Russia will be converted

I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the communion of reparations on first Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted and there will be peace.

In the first four of the five April-May 2023 sessions on Russia &Mary: War & Peace, Dr Mazza stated the Blessed Mother as saying the conversion of Russia. However during the fifth session he said conversion of Russia to the Catholic faith. At that point he admitted that the Blessed Mother never said the words "to the Catholic faith" but that's what she meant. She meant that, he said, because in 1917 the Catholic Church, when speaking of conversion, understood that conversion meant conversion to the Catholic Church. That's Dr Mazza's opinion, as well as the opinion of many others.

Are You "In Full Communion with Rome?"

Kennedy Hall has an interesting article on this topic today which set me thinking about it. First of all, what does it mean to be in "full communion" with anyone? Here's the definition and origin of the word communion from etymonline:

Are Vatican Sharks Purging Orthodox Bishops?

Bishop Finn's "crime" was that he delayed reporting a priest with child porn on his computer. There was never an accusation of his covering up sex abuse. Danneels, on the other hand, did cover up sex abuse (including his own nephew!) for years. But he is still A-okay while Finn was purged. Is this the Vatican administration of the long knives? In with the progressives out with the orthodox?

Here's Finn's real crime:

Pope Benedict Names New CDF Head

Bishop Gerhard Müller of Regensburg, Germany is taking over the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith following Cardinal William Levada's retirement. The bishop has critics on both sides of the Catholic spectrum. Here are several articles to ponder and pray over as the office changes hands.

I'm a Guest of the Catholic Sistas

The Catholic Sistas posted one of my articles today. They are a group of young (mostly) Catholic moms on fire with the faith. Visit their website to get a glimpse of real Catholic women today instead of the stereotypes presented by "Catholic" dissent groups and the modern media.

The Anglicans are Coming - Praise God!

Australia's traditional Anglicans vote to convert to Catholicism

God sure has a sense of humor. The guests invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb have given their excuses for not attending: cafeteria Catholicism, dissent, hostility toward doctrine, itchy ears, etc. But those along the highways, the byways, and the hinterlands long what the Church offers -- orthodoxy.

As these folks join our ranks they will bolster the faith with their love and commitment to the ancient truths of the Gospel which mainline Episcopals/Anglicans throw out as old fashioned. Pray that many will join and enrich us with their faith. Jesus prayed "that all might be one" at the Last Supper. This is the beginning of the fulfillment of that prayer.
