Based on Muslim history, building a mosque is a sign of Islamic victory. One cannot judge this action from an American point of view; it needs to be seen from the Islamic viewpoint. Islam builds mosques where they have conquered. If the mosque is built at Ground Zero, the Muslim world will see it as a victory sign celebrating the terrorist actions of 9/11 and a forerunner of planting Sharia Law here on American soil. It must be stopped for the sake of our Constitutional Republic. Fifty-four percent of Americans oppose the mosque at Ground Zero. If more Americans understood what is happening the opposition would be much higher.
Read the background of the man who leads the initiative to build the mosque, Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf. And for more information see 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America.
I had a year-long course in medieval history at the U of MN 1968-69, and there learned (further) that since the beginning of Islam it has been the enemy of Christendom. I believe it was in grade school (certainly in high school) that I learned the Middle East and North Africa were once solidly Christian. St. Monica, Augustine's mother, was an African, for instance. I recommend to your readers two books by Serge Trifkovic, The Sword of the Prophet and Defeating Jihad.
ReplyDelete"It must be stopped for the sake of our Constitutional Republic." The American muslims who will use the facility are just as American as anyone else; they, therefore, have freedom of speech and freedom of religion. It is well within their rights to build this mosque. And to be fair, the mosque was in the planning process prior to the 9/11 attacks, according to Fox News. I personally would rather the mosque be built elsewhere, in a less sensitive place, but they have the right to do this. Also, there are millions of Muslims throughout the world who are peaceful and denounce the radicals in their religion. Millions of Muslims will not see this as a "sign of victory," only the radical minority will.
