From the Good Grief File: With "Friends" like the Catholic Bishops, Who Needs Enemies?

Didn't you know: Minnie Mouse is transgender?
Disney's new Mickey Ears celebrate "Gay Pride." One more reason for Walt to roll over in his grave!

If Disney celebrating sodomy in the secular culture isn't bad enough, the World Meeting of Families being held in Ireland in August features Fr. James Martin, S.J. as one of its keynote speakers. And the pope will be there giving a great photo op for the homosexual message.

Anyone who reads this blog knows Fr. Martin and his celebration of the gay lifestyle. He looks forward to the time when the same-sex attracted can kiss each other during the sign of peace at Mass. So what exactly is the message? Fr. Z has this to say about the promos of the event:
It is never made clear by Martin whether homosexual Catholics are to be welcomed and valued etc etc etc because they are human beings and Catholics, or because of their homosexuality. Put another way, is it their humanity and Catholicity that is being exalted and defended, or their same-sex attraction?
I have the strongest sense that, behind the rhetoric – and you can see how elusive it is – the real agenda is to normalize homosexual inclinations and, thereafter, acts.
Yup!

Remember how the Extraordinary Synod on the Family was hijacked by liberal cardinals? Remember how it was artfully managed by those who dissent from Church teaching? Remember how Cardinal Kasper lied about journalist Edward Pentin? Remember how Vatican manipulators organizers seized the book Remaining in the Truth of Christ which was sent to all the cardinals? Couldn't have them reading a treatise defending the Church's teaching on marriage and Communion now!

According to the working document for the upcoming meeting, "Young people want an authentic Church, a transparent, welcoming, honest, attractive, communicative, accessible, happy and interactive community." Sounds like they really want a rock concert! Does that description sound like the "field hospital" Pope Francis is always talking about?

And one final loony-tune item.
You implement immigration laws and we'll
zap you with a canonical penalty! You rip
babies limb from limb...well, we won't talk

about that...might shut off the money stream.

Tucson's bishop, Edward Weisenburger, calls for 'canonical penalties' for Catholics implementing Trump's asylum rules

How about canonical penalties for bishops who scandalize their flocks, for example by not implementing Canon Law 915 that calls for withholding Communion from obstinate public sinners. I picketed outside the annual bishops' meeting in D.C. for years with Defend Life calling for implementation of the canon. We could only thank a handful of bishops as they left the hotel to get on buses to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. That situation continues today.

As a side note, Tucson is represented by a rabidly pro-abortion Catholic congressman. Here's how reporter Chris Manion describes the situation:
Tucson is represented in the U.S. Congress by Raul Grijalva. Rep. Grijalva is a Catholic. He has garnered a rating of 100 percent from the NARAL (National Abortion Rights Action League). His advocacy of abortion is public, obstinate, persevering, and scandalous.
Why doesn’t Bishop Weisenburger publicly threaten to refuse Mr. Grijalva admission to the Eucharist?
Bishop Weisenburger is not alone. The problem is endemic. Countless American bishops refuse to apply Canon 915 to those who persevere in the manifest grave sin of supporting of murder of the unborn.
Consider the ten pro-abortion Catholics who are running for the U.S. Senate this fall. All of them are heartily endorsed by NARAL. How many of them were even mentioned by the Fort Lauderdale Bishops? None.
Hey, Bishop! How about canonical penalties
for Catholics who want to separate me from my
mom for good by tearing me limb from limb?
Those pro-abortion politicians didn’t even get a dirty look from our shepherds. Incumbents Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Joe Donnelly (D-IN), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Bob Casey (D-PA) all got a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free Card.
As far as I can see, Trump, with all his faults, is more Catholic than a lot of our bishops. How long will the faithful have to wait to see canonical penalties against Catholic politicians who actively champion dragging babies into the birth canal, stabbing them in the neck, and sucking out their brains? We can thank the pope and the bishops for enabling the recent atrocity in Ireland. The silence, particularly from the Vatican, was deafening.  Which reminds me of a quote from Pope St. Felix III (died 492), "Not to oppose error is to approve it; and not to defend truth is to suppress it; and indeed to neglect to confound evil men, when we can do it, is no less a sin than to encourage them." There are plenty of Catholic pro-abort politicians out there calling themselves "devout," but their only real devotion is to the Democrat death party. Isn't it time for the bishops to call them out instead of letting the democrats buy their silence?

Physician, heal thyself!

  1. Don't hold your breath waiting for bishops to do the right things: too much money involved in looking the other way. And too many sodomites in the ranks.

  2. AMEN!!!! Just wrote the Bishop! This is so so ridiculous to speak of 'canonical penalties' for enforcing the law. No wonder so many faithful Catholics feel abandoned by their Bishops when they find the speck in their brothers eye and cannot find the plank in their own. I am so disappointed!

  3. yOU HAVE spoken so well! How sad it is that we are witnessing all these tragic events, words and unbelievable recommendations against people who love the country and do their job....canonical punishment for them? How about all those politicians that you mention who favor everything the Church is against and the bishops are afraid to touch???? Please, Blessed Mother,In my great sinfulness, Please intercede for the Church and for us, your children! Thank you to LES FEMMES and especially to you, Mary Ann, for your awesome work; may you all be greatly blessed!
