Remember what happened in France after King Louis XIV failed to honor God's command to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. One hundred years later to the day, his great, great, great grandson, King Louis XVI, was stripped of his crown and imprisoned. Several years later he was sent to the guillotine. While he was in prison he placed a promise within the walls of his cell to consecrate France if he were release. He was, indeed, released by death several in 1793. The document was discovered in the wall about 80 years later when the Tuileries, used as his prison, was demolished.
Makes you think about the disasters we are experiencing in the world and the Church, doesn't it?
The actual request for consecration was made to Sister Lucia on 6/13/1929; we are less than eight years from the centenary of that event.
ReplyDelete"I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world." (July 13, 1917 at Fatima, to Lucial)
"The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father to make, in union with all the bishops of the world, the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart . . ." (June 13, 1929 at Tuy, Spain, to Lucia)
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for our bishops and for us.
