I always try to make Mass on First Friday. I want to receive all the graces promised to St. Margaret Mary by Our Lord:
“I promise you, in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the first Friday for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance; they shall not die in my disgrace nor without receiving the sacraments; my divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in that last moment.” — Our Lord to St. Margaret Mary
This morning, as I was reflecting on the Feast of the Transfiguration, I thought of the joy the three apostles - Peter, James, and John - must have experienced as they observed Jesus conversing with Moses and Elijah on Mt. Tabor.
Think about it. They celebrated the Passover every year. They knew intimately the story of Moses leading their ancestors out of Egypt into the promised land. What a thrill to actually see a hero of their history right in front of them. No wonder Peter wanted to erect tents and stay there indefinitely. Wouldn't you?
And Elijah, a major prophet, one who competed against the priests of the murderous pagan god Baal ridiculing them as they called Baal to light their sacrifices. Then Elijah drenched his sacrifice with water until it flowed into the trenches around the altar and begged for God's action. Who has ever seen water burst into flame? But that's what happened. God showed his mighty power.
