I hate what my first thought was when I read Vatican journalist Diane Montagna's article about the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith and their plans to excommunicate the SSPX bishops if the consecrations go forward on July 1st. There is talk that the entire Society will be excommunicated, every single member, which includes all the clergy and I presume the seminarians, brothers, and nuns. 

The laity are not members of the Society so if rumors turn out to be true, I presume we will be told we cannot fulfill our Sunday obligation by going to Mass at SSPX chapels and that they do not have the authority to forgive sins so sacramental confessions will be invalid. And, of course, so will the sacrament of Confirmation and Matrimony. Whew! The sword of Damocles will be over our heads wielded by Cardinal Fernandez of kissing and porno book fame. Really, it boggles the mind. So while Pope Leo embraces and dialogues with Patriarch Bartholomew of the schismatic Easter Orthodox Church, he refuses to meet with the SSPX.

Parishes using both forms, the TLM and the Novus Ordo, had little or no division among parishioners and the TLM tended to increase reverence at the Novus Ordo. That didn't stop lying Francis from issuing Traditiones Custodes with its draconian repressions.

I just returned last night from the Catholic Identity Conference. The theme was HOLY WAR: The Kingship of Christ vs the Great Reset. What a tour de force! Friday every speaker was a priest or bishop. Fr. John Echert, the former military chaplain, who sometimes used a U-Haul trailer as his portable church during the lockdowns, kept us all spellbound. Here's a video of his parking lot Mass on Laetare Sunday. He prayed Easter Mass in the snow from the back of the trailer.

I ordered it and will get it Friday. It's going with me to the hospital to read while my husband is having knee replacement surgery on Monday. With the rosary in one hand and Bishop Schneider's book in the other I expect my "waiting" time to be well spent. (I would also appreciate your prayers, dear readers, for my husband and for his medical team.)

Like my husband, the faithful have been limping along hampered by internal wounds that make walking upright difficult. How frustrating when our own bodies betray us. And that's what we have going on here. The Mystical Body of Christ that should be strong with all parts working together has experienced self-destruction and attack by the very parts that should be making us strongest.

But in all circumstances we trust in Christ. He reigns and nothing but our own cowardice can destroy our faith and trust in Him. So don't be discouraged. Pick up the cross and follow. And let's make Bishop Schneider's book a best seller!
