Concurring Opinion from Justices Gorsuch, Thomas, and Alito on Vaccine Mandate Decision

I posted yesterday about the Supreme Court's decision in National Federation of Business vs. the Department of Labor/OSHA. Today, let's take a look at the concurring decision written by Justice Gorsuch and joined by Justices Thomas and Alito. It's an interesting document that adds significantly to the reasoning behind the decision. First of all Gorsuch clearly identifies the constitutional rights and powers of the states vs. those of the federal government. It makes for interesting reading:

There is no question that state and local authorities possess considerable power to regulate public health. They enjoy the “general power of governing,” including all sovereign powers envisioned by the Constitution and not specifically vested in the federal government.

When was the last time we saw this at the White House?

Heavenly Father, we beg for your intercession on our new president and his administration. We beg your assistance and guidance in all the selections for cabinet posts, the Supreme Court, other federal judge positions, and all other positions of influence. Give us a government pleasing to you that defends life at all levels from conception to natural death. We thank you for the reprieve from tyrannical Democrats, especially those professing to be Catholic who blaspheme your Holy name as they worship at the altar of Moloch. We beg for your continued protection on the United States through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Who is Neil Gorsuch, Trump's Nominee to the Supreme Court?

Well, folks, the nominee for the Supreme Court was just announced and gave a great short speech. It's Judge Neil Gorsuch of the 10th District who is a strict constructionist, opposes judicial activism, and ruled against the Obama administration on two cases -- Hobby Lobby and the Little Sisters of the Poor. He has also written against assisted suicide and euthanasia. Read more about him hereherehere, and here. But this is the article I enjoyed most.

Now is the time for serious and intense prayer for our country and its leaders. Pray for Judge Gorsuch as he faces Senate hearings and, while you're at it, why not send him a note telling him you are praying for him. The only address I've been able to find for him is for the 10 Circuit Court of Appeals 1823 Stout St, Denver, CO 80257. I trust that if you write c/o that address, he'll get it. If anyone has his mailing address in Colorado please post it. I haven't been able to find it.
