Déjà Vu in the World and the Church! Part 1

Think of the 2020 riots and see a repeat of mob rule during the French Revolution.

Every morning I wake up with a sense of déjà vu. Have I stepped out of a time machine taking me back to some of the worst eras in human history? Am I in the streets of 1789 Paris where a vicious, tyrannical mob, like the BLM/Antifa thugs, joins a godless government to burn and loot and kill? I listen to AOC, Chuck Schumer, and Maxine Waters and hear the angry voices of workers in Petrograd in 1917 stirred up by the Bolsheviks to kill the czar, replacing him with Communist tyrants. And I shiver over a President who increasingly sounds like them. 

In the Church I’ve become a Biblical leper, unwelcome in the parish Church unless I go to the Novus Ordo. I wonder how long it will be before more draconian measures send traditional Catholics to the catacombs. I get in the boat with St. Athanasias fleeing the heretics in a world that woke up one morning and found itself modernist. Yes, it’s déjà vu!

For reasons of their own, leaders of Catholic colleges are choosing to bestow their highest honors on people who publicly oppose the Church on key moral issues. This despite the bishops’ instruction 13 years ago to stop the nonsense.

It is as if some college leaders—and these are prominent, influential leaders in the Church—delight in taunting the bishops, year after year, to do something about the repeated scandals. The Church stands firm on principle, while our society (especially academia) rejects truth because it’s fashionable to do so.

I hope you are praying for the repose of this man's soul. He didn't just believe in the Catholic faith; he lived it. And while you reflect on his charity consider the disgrace of so many liberals tweeting glee over Scalia's death. No surprise really. Jesus said they would treat the servants like the Master and we all know how they treated Him. May each of us resolve to imitate the charity of those who treat the lowly and unimportant as if they are pearls of great price.

1) not one witness present.
2) the security detail (U.S. Marshals) which usually provides security for him, was dismissed and not present.
2) he was found dead with a pillow over his head.
3) pronounced dead by a judge over the phone without ever seeing the body.
