I often check LifeSiteNews in the morning. Today I read John Henry Weston's commentary. I love the phrase he used, "anchored in charity." Imagine a world where all of us anchor our little boats with charity! Check out the article. It's short but pithy.:

Where will the road take you this week?

Ah...the beginning of a new week. I guess actually yesterday was the beginning. Sunday offers the view from the city on the hill for the next seven days of the journey. Do we look forward to it with pleasure? Do we see a road covered with thorns and brambles or a straight path bordered by glorious gifts of nature? Here are my own random thoughts for the day.

• Life is often challenging, no surprise in this "valley of tears." I was holding a new baby after Mass yesterday. Little Pio is only a little over a week old. His sister who I think is nine was holding him with such an air of motherly protection, but she gave him up to me to fondle for a few minutes. There is nothing like a new baby to give one hope. As Charles Dickens wrote in one of his novels (I think it was The Old Curiosity Shop), "It is no small wonder that these who are so fresh from God love us." That is a truth indeed!

I'm having a Monday morning meltdown! Not that I'm upset, I'm just feeling a little all over the place. Yesterday my daughter reminded me of a trip we took to the Kennedy Center for her 24th birthday to see Phantom of the Opera.

I'm trying to decide whether my "mad"ness is rage or insanity! Why am I "mad?" Lots of reasons. Here's one, Robert Knight's article describing how Utah has passed a ban on counseling for those who want help to deal with same sex attraction/gender dysphoria in a way that leads them to accept the sex they were born with.

Too bad, kid, NO CHOICE FOR YOU! Go to a the "quacks who insist that no one can ever 'go straight' or even try."

Monday Morning Musings...

• Good morning, sweet Jesus, I love You, sweet Jesus, all for You!

• We are incredibly blessed! Had four of five children and their families here yesterday for Sunday brunch (and pizza later) minus one college student and one working teen. The cousins, all 16 of them, enjoyed the trampoline, ultimate frisbee, bike and trike riding and cuddling the babies. Not one squabble! Lots of adult conversation as well as adult-child conversation when the kids took a break from playing. Lots of games, good food, and laughter. Night prayer last night, after everyone was gone except our visiting out-of-town daughter and her family, was a joyful and peaceful end to a blessed day. Thank you, Lord!
