Is the Crisis in the Church Real?

I

I've been disappointed in Cardinal Sarah's statements criticizing the consecraton of the bishops without a papal mandate. It's not the first time in Church history that a bishop disobeyed the pope. In fact, Pope John Paul II, when he was bishop of Krakow, under the policy of Ostpolitik, was  forbidden to ordain priests. He disobeyed Pope Paul VI's order that no above ground or underground ordinations should take place. He disobeyed and suffered no consequences and, in fact, became pope.

Is the SSPX Position Really "indefensible?" Part 1

Cardinal Wojtyla and Cardinal Slipyj both ordained clandestinely
without permission from the Vatican violating canon law.

I'm currently reading SSPX Indefensible posted by Dom Dalmasso of the Logos Project written by Noah and Wesley Weidig who  were raised in the SSPX. The document is really just a reiteration of points made by Dalmasso, John Salza, ex-32nd degree Mason, Robert Siscoe, and Andrew Bartel, all of whom came out of the SSPX and now attack the SSPX as schismatic and a danger to the faith.

Errors of the Communist West vs Orthodox Christian Russia

Russian Orthodox Church in honor of
the Transfiguration of the Lord
Western Siberia

Part I

Let's not start the Fatima Consecration controversy in the comment section below since that isn't what this post is about. Instead briefly let's look at historical facts that happened after Pope John Paul II's March 25, 1984, Consecration then move on to facts of the current situation today.

The short rundown of historical facts after John Paul II's March 25, 1984, Consecration of the World and with it Russia are as follows:

On May 13, 1984, one of the largest crowds in Fatima history gathers at the shrine in Portugal to pray the Rosary for peace and on the same day, May 13, 1984, an explosion at the Soviets’ Severomorsk Naval Base destroys two-thirds of all the missiles stockpiled for the Soviets’ Northern Fleet. The blast also destroys workshops needed to maintain the missiles as well as hundreds of scientists and technicians. Western military experts called it the worst naval disaster the Soviet Navy has suffered since WWII.

On December 1984, Soviet Defense Minister, mastermind of the invasion plans for Western Europe, suddenly and mysteriously dies, March 10, 1985, Soviet Chairman Konstantin Chernenko dies, March 11, 1985, Soviet Chairman Mikhail Gorbachev, a baptized Christian, is elected.

I get it now! A man is a woman with junk.

This man is a woman with junk
(Rachael Levine, Biden's Assistant Secretary of Health)
I understand now. It finally sank into my thick stupid skull. My brain has fully mastered the concept - and just in the nick of time, I might add, so I won't have to be sent off to reeducation summer camp to have my head submerged in a bucket of water until the point of drowning when they pull my face out and scream into it, "Now?!! Now do you understand?! Or do you want more?! Huh? Huh! Say it! Sayitsayitsayit! And believe you me you better believe it and understand that this is the TRUTH! Got it!? You filthy evil stupid white-supremacist Trump supporter!

I'm supposed to say, "Yes. Yes. I do understand now. To be what a thing is not, is good and right and honest. What something isn't, really and truly is. A man can be a woman with junk. A woman can be a man and since he/she/it/they has/have a womb he/she/it/they can give birth to a child. That child must not be killed because it is the holy right for a woman who is a man with a womb to give birth but it's a holy duty - actually it's a sacrament - to kill any other, or all - unborn babies in the womb of a woman who is not a man. It's what God meant when He said "Thou shalt not kill" because we know He meant not to kill the guilty who have committed hideous crimes against humanity, but do kill the innocent unborn so they won't grow up to become future problems to not then be killed after committing heinous crimes. Our prisons are too full as it is."

Down in the Mouth? Perk Up! Fraud Continues to Be Uncovered All Over the Country!

The Biden lead is collapsing in many places as more fraud is uncovered. Keep praying that they don't get away with it! No matter how it turns out, lots of people will be unhappy. I'm hoping the babies in the womb and the elderly vulnerable will be smiling. As Pope John Paul II said on his first visit to the United States, "America, Defend Life!" Read this article to put a smile on your face and renewed vigor in your prayer and sacrifice.

Pedro Arrupe, S.J., was removed just as Jorge Bergoglio, S.J., must be removed

The Twins - Two Peas in a Pod
Jorge Bergoglio, S.J., left;
Pedro Arrupe, S.J., right
Remember when Pedro Arrupe was removed as Superior General of the Jesuit Order by Pope John Paul II? No? No memory of that?

It's no use consulting the Internet for validation. It has no memory of that event. However both Wikipedia and a few articles from the leftist Jesuit magazine, America, say that Arrupe "resigned". The Jesuits won't admit that John Paul II removed Arrupe. They say that Arrupe resigned due to his failing health. They say that Arrupe was going to recommend American Jesuit Vincent O'Keefe, S.J., as his replacement when instead John Paul II "intervened" and appointed two other Jesuits, Paola Dezza and Giuseppe Pittau, to oversee the Society of Jesus until a new Superior General could be elected.

In fact, the cold hard truth is that on October 5, 1981, Pope John Paul II rightfully removed Pedro Arrupe, S.J.,  forever from the Generalate, which in turn, moved O'Keefe from his post as Vicar General of the Society and from all hope of being elected General by a subsequent Congregation. Then he (JPII) firmly and resolutely appointed Dezza and Pittau as overseers until such time (two years later, September of 1983) a new Superior General could be elected.

If a Bishop Dies on the Border Between New York and Illinois, Where Should He Be Buried?

When John Paul II visited New York he asked to meet
Fulton Sheen. A few months later the archbishop died.
With the on-going controversy over where Fulton Sheen's final resting place should be, New York City or Peoria, I've been thinking about him a lot lately. At least a dozen of his books line my bookshelves and I've actually read most of them, some even twice. His Life of Christ is a masterpiece! What a work to bring one to a greater knowledge of and friendship with our Lord and Savior! His autobiography, Treasure in Clay, would be a great ordination gift for a young priest on fire with love for Christ. Walking in Sheen's footsteps would lead any priest or layman straight to the tabernacle. I love to watch Sheen's old TV series, Life is Worth Living, on YouTube. It's a good antidote when life seems anything but!

The fight over Sheen's body seems ludicrous to me. If New York isn't interested in pursuing his cause for sainthood and Peoria is, why the argument? Does New York want him at St. Patrick's for Big Apple Catholic tourist appeal? That's not even where he wanted his remains. In his will, he identified a cemetery in Queens.

A Good News Story from Wheeling, but not about Clergy

Mercy Cuts to the Bone

by Dr. Steven Miller, orthopedic surgeon

Tired, worried, and with dark circles around her eyes, Kelly Amato arrived at the Orthopedic Clinic at Wheeling Hospital without an appointment and with X-rays in hand. She asked me for my help. I immediately responded, "Yes, of course!" What happened afterwards was incredible — not just due to the outcome, but also for how it transpired and how it continues to inspire me spiritually.

Here's What Happened after the March 25, 1984 Consecration of Russia

Yes, Russia is Consecrated!

The contents of this post is one part of a four part article from the link above.

Russia was converted from Communism to relative Freedom of Religion. Its conversion is ongoing and free. God respects the free will of men. They have freedom to convert or reject the faith. Our Lady never said that Russia would be converted to Catholicism. She said simply that it would be converted and a period of peace would be given to the world. (Peace, as in there was NOT a nuclear war in 1984-85 as Lucia had feared.)

True and False Mercy: Pope John Paul II vs. Pope Francis

A pope of true mercy who would never counsel
fornicators and adulterers to commit sacrilege!
One of the devils cleverest tricks is to take a truth and exaggerate it to the point that it becomes false.
That's what we're seeing these days with the virtue of mercy. Emphasize mercy to the extreme and you end up eliminating justice. Being merciful to the sinner translates into blessing his sin to be compassionate. Unfortunately, parents tend to do this because they "don't want to alienate" their children. And so they allow their children to blackmail them into approving their sinful lifestyle.

I've known parents who allow fornicating children to move into their home or visit and share the same bedroom. Their actions not only encourage the mortally sinful behavior of their children, but desecrates their home which should be the holy temple of the domestic church.

We've seen how "Pope Francis mercy" includes inviting those behaving in mortally sinful ways to commit sacrilege by approaching the altar for Communion. We've heard how some married couples are less married than those in fornicating and adulterous (and even sodomite) partnerships. We've heard the approval of cardinals and bishops who dissent from the faith in many areas and also "heard" the deafening silence of many other princes of the Church called to defend the faith.

The Apocalyptic Vision of John Paul II

For the past few weeks I've been pondering a quote in the Magnificat missalette from the feast of Blessed John Paul II on October 22nd..
“We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has ever experienced. I do not think the wide circle of the American Society, or the wide circle of the christian Community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the Gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the antichrist. This confrontation lies within the plans of Divine Providence. It is therefore, in God’s Plan, and it must be a trial which the Church must take up, and face courageously....
"We must prepare ourselves to suffer great trials before long, such as will demand of us a disposition to give up even life, and a total dedication to Christ and for Christ … With your and my prayer it is possible to mitigate this tribulation, but it is no longer possible to avert it, because only thus can the Church be effectively renewed. How many times has the renewal of the Church sprung from blood! This time, too, it will not be otherwise. We must be strong and prepared, and trust in Christ and His Mother, and be very, very assiduous in praying the Rosary."   Blessed John Paul II
The first part of this statement was reported in the Wall Street Journal of November 9, 1976 from an address to the U.S. bishops before Cardinal Karol Wojtyla became pope. The second part is from an interview with Catholics of Fulda in 1980 when he had been pope for several years. I can't help feeling as I read this piece that John Paul actually heard these warnings from the Blessed Mother herself. Did she appear and tell  him the tribulation could no longer be averted? His words sound like statements Mary's made in apparitions around the world. And the pope certainly had an intimate relationship with Our Lady. Reading this makes me want to be more faithful and more devout in praying the rosary. Our world is in such desperate need of Mary's intercession.

Who at the Vatican knew what when?

Tom Bethell has a terrific article in the June issue of The American Spectator which I posted on the Fr. Haley blog. It contains some shocking information about Vatican officials being bribed by the Legionairies of Christ and raises the question of how much Pope John Paul II knew about and enabled the sex abuse coverup. In view of the terrible episcopal appointments Pope John Paul made, the revelations are believable. I hope this slows down his fast track to canonization. Why the rush anyway? Pope John Paul II was a charismatic figure and he certainly suffered courageously, especially in the end, but a little historical perspective wouldn't hurt.

Let's see Pope Pius XII's cause move forward. That much maligned man stands as a floodlight in those dark days of the 20th century when all Europe was swallowed up by the black spider of the Third Reich.
