On Thursday, July 11, police discovered the rotting body of 17-year-old Darryl Green, a black child from the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. Green’s body was found behind a boarded-up house in the 6500-block of South Damen, face down on basement stairs. The body was so badly decomposed that originally, local news reports suggested that he had died of blunt force trauma. On Friday, an autopsy showed he had been shot to death. Relatives reported that Green had refused to join a gang at school.

Tristan Breaux, head of the Norfolk NAACP, is under fire for telling the truth about Trayvon Martin's "shaky past." Here's an article about it. Breaux sounds like a man with a sense of honesty who wanted to pour oil on the water and not inflame already hot passions. He is being lambasted for telling the truth with many calling for his resignation. What does that tell you about the agenda here?

Well, she couldn't get a conviction in a court of law because there was no evidence to sustain it. So now Prosecutor Angela Corey is trying George Zimmerman in the media. Calling him a "murderer" on prime time TV has earned her the scorn of lawyers including well-known Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz:

"[George Zimmerman] probably has a defamation action against her. She has no immunity as a prosecutor for appearing on television and if I were his lawyer I would think seriously about bringing a defamation lawsuit against her." [See more here.]

Zimmerman and his parents are in hiding after numerous death threats.

 And Zimmerman's acquittal like that of the LAPD police officers in the Rodney King case a decade ago, is the excuse for some to loot and riot and attack innocent people for having the wrong skin color. Remember Reginald Denny who was dragged from his truck and nearly beaten to death?

Trayvon Martin was no Medgar Evers!

I spent about an hour last night watching live coverage after the Zimmerman acquittal. Some of it made me shake my head. We live today in a world where virtual reality is the norm. Many people don't appear to care about the truth; only about their own perceptions (no matter how unhinged from reality) and about their feelings.

The Zimmerman trial brought that to the fore in a way that is baffling and head-shaking. The trial was NEVER about race and yet demagogues of racial division, like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton and even the lawyers for the Martin family, continuously beat the racial bigotry drum. So a young man with a history of mentoring black kids, a man who was virtually the ONLY person to champion the rights of a homeless black man assaulted by a white cop's adult son, was portrayed as a monster of evil who hated blacks and stalked Trayvon with intent to kill. It was a script from the Twilight Zone, one that evidence presented by the prosecution could not sustain. The verdict was correct. There was no way a jury presented with the facts of the case could convict. There wasn't only "reasonable doubt" that he was guilty; a conclusion of guilt would have been unreasonable!

The thing I found most offensive last night as I watched the post trial coverage was one of the Martin family's lawyers claiming, once again, that it was a civil rights issue. The man actually compared Trayvon Martin to Medgar Evers, the civil rights activist assassinated outside his Mississippi home by a white supremacist in 1963. I found that comparison so unreal and so offensive that the Twilight Zone music began playing in my head.

It's really sad to think that no matter how things go in the George Zimmerman trial, authorities anticipate violence. Not only if Zimmerman is found innocent (which he should be in view of the lack of evidence to support a 2nd degree murder charge), but in the event he's found guilty and the "celebrating gets out of hand." Sad isn't it?



Think about it. If violence breaks out, the police will NOT be able to protect everybody. Riots happen. Remember New Orleans after Katrina with looters terrorizing neighborhoods. What if Zimmerman Walks Free?

Pat Buchanan predicts a firestorm like the one that engulfed California after the acquittal of the LAPD officers who arrested Rodney King. Interestingly, both cases involved media editing materials (video in the King case, audio in the Zimmerman case) to make the accused look guilty. The feeding frenzy in the Zimmerman case makes it look impossible for him to get a fair trial. But all the evidence released int he media so far is consistent with Zimmerman's account the night of the incident. But does anybody care about truth these days? It is convenient for one man to be sacrificed to political correctness and, if Obama is lucky, the trial will take place before the election, Zimmerman will get off, race riots will ensue, and Obama can declare martial law. But that seems a remote possibility and fodder for conspiracy theorists. It is likely to be bad enough without that. And consider...by 2050 whites in this country will be in the minority. Remember Rwanda? At least everybody was the same color which made it somewhat possible to blend in. As for Obama - our first black president sure hasn't done anything to defuse racial tensions. His motto, "home and change" should have been "hope and chains."

We should have elected Rodney King. His motto was "Can't we all just get along?" Let's pray for that and, as Christians, let's pray that we can forgive our enemies. It seems like there are a lot more of them since Obama took office and started fanning the flames of racial division. But we aren't the only ones. 93% of black murders are committed by black assailants, much of it during drug battles as illustrated in the video below. What times we live in! Pray for the kids. Like some of the men in the interview say -- it's the breakdown of the family. Amen to that!

This Made Me Sad

What a waste! One honorable young man dies in our country's unnecessary involvement in Iraq where we don't belong. The other, a dishonest young man thumbing his nose at the world, is killed in an unnecessary fight with a neighborhood watch volunteer. Pray for the repose of both their souls. 

And pray that our country commits to strengthening the family. It's pretty clear the difference between these two young men. Jaron Holliday grew up in an intact family with a mom and dad and lots of siblings. Trayvon Martin was the troubled child of divorce who was visiting the home of his dad's girlfriend when the shooting occurred. These days we rarely hear any defense of the intact nuclear family, but the greatest predictor of a kid staying out of trouble is having both a dad and mom in the home. Studies show that kids do best in an intact family. The most constructive thing government can do for kids is to develop policies that promote families staying together. 

George Zimmerman: Reuters Takes a Deeper Look

Reuters should be congratulated for taking a long look into the real George Zimmerman. Up to now Zimmerman's been portrayed as a racist monster, but his upbringing was a model of diversity with a black great grandfather, a Hispanic mom, and a white dad. Holidays were filled with family and friends of all races. But the media, especially the New York times, is using the term "white Hispanic" for Zimmerman apparently to fit their liberal agenda of laying all things evil at the feet of racist whites. I eagerly await the demise of that politically correct rag.

I'm afraid George Zimmerman has been so demonized in the press,that he he can never get a fair trial. The charge of second degree murder was completely political as Alan Dershowitz is pointing out all over the internet (one example below). You can almost hear the Pharisaical liberals saying, "It's better for one man to get the shaft to keep the people happy." And, we're already hearing that if Zimmerman isn't convicted there will be riots. Reminds me of the Rodney King and O.J. Simpson trials.


So what's the message here? All white-black crimes must have only one outcome. Do I have to "splain it" to ya? This is what liberalism has done to the country.


 

Just Lynch Him Already!

We've all been deluged with media hype about the trial of the season -- not in a court of law, but in the kangaroo court of public opinion. Yes, I'm talking about the shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. The media declares it a hate crime motivated by race without one scintilla of evidence about what really happened that night. The Black Panthers offer a reward for Zimmerman - dead or alive? Spike Lee terrorizes an innocent elderly couple (who receive death threats) by mistakenly giving out their address as Zimmerman's. A member of the black caucus turn up on the floor of Congress in a "hoodie." The president raises the racial stakes saying if Trayvon was his son he'd "look like me." Wow! Talk about stirring up the racial tensions.

A young man is dead; another has been declared guilty in the press. And all this hype looks to me like a cynical attempt to make political hay out of a crisis that would be a shame to waste. Let's face it. Race animosity is an election strategy. 

Does anybody care about justice and the rule of law? Is George Zimmerman allowed his day in court? Or should we just save time, affirm the guilty verdict in the press, and send out the mob to lynch Zimmerman and get it over with?
