Reading the headlines these days is enough to send your blood pressure through the roof. The war in Iran is showing signs, not of de-escalation, but a strategy of horizontal escalation that gives a weaker power the ability to respond to a stronger power. [See Why Escalation Favors Iran.] Reading about it definitely gives one pause about the wisdom of starting the fight. Did we learn anything from Vietnam? And now Hezbollah has joined Iran with coordinated, simultaneous missile attacks.

Will Our Interference in Ukraine and Elsewhere Bring World War III to Our Shores?

Since Ukraine invaded the Kursk region of Russia earlier this month, the drive-by media has cheered and advanced the on-going myth that Ukraine is winning the war. Any success up to now, of course, is because of the support of the West with billions of dollars and military equipment poured into a notoriously corrupt country with absolutely no accountability. How much of the contents of American taxpayers' raided wallets ended up in offshore accounts? Nobody knows! And the Biden/Harris administration doesn't seem to care. But that doesn't keep stupid politicians like Lindsey Graham from joining the Democrat war machine and demanding more and more and more. Graham acts like a ten-year-old playing cops and robbers. I used to respect him; but he's just a political hack who looks like a member of the Keystone Cops waving his gun and then shooting himself in the foot. As for the Democrats in general, represented by demented Biden, they oppose each escalation until they say yes. They pose a serious danger to every American. God help us if Harris wins.

Are You Paying Attention to Syria?

Better be on your knees over world events. The violence in Syria offers a frightening scenario for the start of World War III if the superpowers get involved. China and Russia are mobilizing to help Iran if the U.S.  intervenes to prevent Iran from assisting Syria. And Israel is in the middle of this powderkeg with nuclear weapons at the ready. This kind of instability is an invitation to jihadist terrorists.

Ah...doesn't it make you feel safe and secure knowing we have such an experienced and intelligent president at the helm with all of this going on. I am so comfortable knowing that Hillary is entrenched at the Department of State with her little cookstove project to do her part against global warming.

Think I'll put on the armor of God and pray my rosary for world peace, especially for the poor civilians caught in the crossfire. Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

The first thing I thought of when I read this was the scenario that began World War II. Great Britain stayed out of things until Hitler invaded Poland, their ally. Hitler's invasion of Poland marks the first armed attack of the war in Europe and his blitzkrieg defeated the nation within hours. A mounted horse cavalry was hardly an effective deterrent to Nazi tanks.

Well, we have an agreement to defend our ally Taiwan in case of attack by Beijing which continues to aim at reunification of the island nation with mainland China. What will happen if China attacks Taiwan? Not a happy thought is it. But Mother Teresa predicted that the fruit of abortion would be WW III. I see no indications that the countries of the world are becoming more moral. In fact, comparing our behavior to the end of WW II, we are more depraved in every area and in every one of the seven deadly sins. This is surely a time to listen to the Blessed Mother's call for repentance and penance. The messages of Akita should send all Christians to their knees.

The Blessed Mother gave us this prayer during her apparitions. Please pray it every day:

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Holy Eucharist, I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Thy Heart, being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world and giving praise to the Father pleading for the coming of his Kingdom. I love to read Star Parker's insightful columns about what's happening in the U.S. Her column about Andrew Breitbart expands to examine the impact of the breakdown of moral values in the U.S. and the collapse of the country. And then she explains why the left hates Breitbart so much:

Well, the truth is that moral collapse precedes economic collapse, and anyone with eyes can see that we are on the brink of economic collapse. In view of the unsettled world situation, the collapse of the economy in other countries and unstable governments like Iran on the brink of nuclear capability, I think we are also facing the likelihood of a third world war. I was discussing this yesterday with my brother, a college science professor. Things look pretty grim as the video below discusses.

Having said all that, the answer is not terror, but prayer. Padre Pio put it well, "Pray, hope, and don't worry." The Church Militant has the best "weapons" - the Eucharist, Confession, the rosary, other prayers and devotions, and a commitment to evangelize with the truth.

So pray, hope, don't worry, use the sacraments, and spread the truth.
