Nabi Sayeth: Catholics are Called to Join the Counterculture against the Homosexual Movement!

Put on the armor of God and
HOLD YOUR GROUND!
Nabi Sayeth: The scandal shaking the Catholic Church at this time has made clear to many faithful Catholics the destructive influence of the homosexual movement (LGBTQ) on both clergymen and the laity. Unfortunately, at times people of faith can feel confused and overwhelmed by what they see, read and hear about this movement, and as the result, there is a temptation to give in, to join the crowd…. After all, who wants to be a loner….right? But that thinking does not fit well when one examines the history of Christianity. Historically, Christianity, wherever it has been located and whichever time in history has ALWAYS been COUNTERCULTURAL. Christians have always lived “in the world” but not “of the world.”

Do You Practice "Joyful Subversion?"

Andrew brings Peter to Jesus.
The priest who witnessed my marriage, Fr. Hugh Monmonier, a wonderful Benedictine who became a good friend, once told my husband and me that Catholics should be on the watch to "make a friend, be a friend, and bring a friend to Christ." I thought of that this morning as I read Mary Eberstadt's article honoring Fr. Arne Padula, former director of the Catholic Information Center who died in July.

One phrase particularly caught my eye. She said Father's legacy was to bring "joyful subversion to new generations."

"Joyful subversion!" What an interesting paradox. Webster defines subversion as a "systematic attempt to overthrow or undermine a government or political system by persons working secretly from within." The word comes from 14th century Old French and the etymology dictionary defines it as "physical destruction, demolition, ruination; overthrow of a system or law."

No Matter What Happens Today, Never-Never-NEVER Give Up!

Imitate the perseverance of these little creatures of God. He gave them to us to remind us never to give up! Pray, hope, and don't worry!

Are You Paying Attention to Syria?

Better be on your knees over world events. The violence in Syria offers a frightening scenario for the start of World War III if the superpowers get involved. China and Russia are mobilizing to help Iran if the U.S.  intervenes to prevent Iran from assisting Syria. And Israel is in the middle of this powderkeg with nuclear weapons at the ready. This kind of instability is an invitation to jihadist terrorists.

Ah...doesn't it make you feel safe and secure knowing we have such an experienced and intelligent president at the helm with all of this going on. I am so comfortable knowing that Hillary is entrenched at the Department of State with her little cookstove project to do her part against global warming.

Think I'll put on the armor of God and pray my rosary for world peace, especially for the poor civilians caught in the crossfire. Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Compassion, a One-Way Street in the Gay World

I started my day today with a vicious comment on my Bishop Loverde, Where is Fr. Haley? blog. I'm used to it by now so I don't get the powerful adrenaline surge any more. (I have always hated cofrontation and am very familiar with the fight or flight reaction that makes me want to run.)

This morning's post just made me sad. This lady's attitude explains graphically the hostility of the gay community toward Christians. Many would feed us to the lions if they could because we dare to condemn, not them but their perverted lifestyle or the lifestyle of their children. Either we accept it and celebrate it or we shut up. And if we won't, they'll shut us up with hate crime legislation.

There's no fleeing -- so Christians better hold their ground and fight. Read Ephesians 6, put on the armor of God and take up your sword, the Word of God. If we don't start holding our ground we won't have any left in the entire world.
