Sunday Meditation: Never, Never, Never Give Up!

Editor's Comment: I received the email and attachment below a few weeks ago. Today on this Second
Sunday of Advent I want to share it. Many signs in our culture point to the time Matthew described in chapter 24 of his Gospel.

"Let no one mislead you. Many will come attempting to impersonate me. 'I am the Messiah!' they will claim, and they will deceive many, You will hear of wars and rumors of war....Nation will rise against nation....There will be famine and pestilence and earthquakes in many places....They will hand you over to torture and kill you....Indeed, you will be hated by all nations on my account....False prophets will rise in great numbers to mislead many. Because of the increase of evil, the love of most will grow cold. The man who holds out to the end, however, is the one who will see salvation. This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world as a witness to all the nations. Only after that will the end come."

How My Son Died in Hospice

This article would be more accurately titled -- How My Son was Murdered with the Complicity of Hospice. We've seen it before -- spouses who vowed to be faithful "in sickness and in health" murdering their husbands or wives. Michelle Finn and Michael Schiavo could be the poster couple for these medical murders.

I also have a personal friend who described how her mom helped kill her dad who suffered from Alzheimer's. He was living at the time with my friend's son, only two door away from her in the same cul-de-sac.

And You Thought Sarah Palin was Exaggerating about "Death Panels"

She wasn't. The "conversations" with sick patients are here. Their point? Ostensibly to determine the patient's "wishes." In reality, their goal is moving the patient toward rejecting life sustaining treatment in favor of non-treatment, pain control, and early death.
