It's all exposing the lie that abortion is like clipping a toenail or removing a tick.

I read years ago about elderly patients in the Netherlands who feared they would be euthanized if they went into the hospital. It was a reasonable fear. "Termination of life without request" is not a rare situation. It is increasing in every country that promotes assisted suicide. And too often the deliberate murder of the patient is involved even when they desire to live. 

The Bioethics Observatory of the Catholic University of Valencia has a number of alarming articles exposing the increasing incidence of deliberate euthanasia of patients. You can read some of them here. While the high profile cases make the news, most of those hastened to the morgue are invisible.

The other day I did a post about the medical murder of Sr. Phillip Marie Burle who was deliberately over medicated, declared incompetent, and then killed by Mount Carmel Senior Living in St. Charles, MO. Reading her case reminded me so much of the murders of Hugh Finn and Terri Schiavo and, more recently, teenager Grace Scharra. She was hospitalized with COVID and killed while doctors lied to her family that she was improving. Meanwhile they administered an increasingly lethal drug cocktail.

PCHETA (Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (S. 2243, previously introduced in the House in 2019 as H.R. 647), is the death peddlers kill bill. We need to oppose it!

Why?

Palliative care used to be patient focused -- to help patients with chronic or terminal illnesses live as fully as possible until natural death. Often, patients assisted with palliative remedies from their primary physicians lived comfortably and fruitfully for years. They were encouraged to enjoy their families, have a positive outlook, and continue to participate in activities as much as they could. It wasn't about using every possible extraordinary means to prolong life, but to treat illnesses and offer pain relief when necessary.

Don't Let the Death Peddlers Make Decisions for Your Adult Children!

Once a child reaches the age of eighteen he or she is a legal adult. That means, if your legal adult living at home has a medical emergency, you have no right to any information about his condition. Parents can be shut out of the decision-making process in favor of the folks in white coats and scrubs and the legal eagles in suits and judicial robes.

Someone messaged me yesterday asking for information about euthanasia. More and more people are seeing their loved ones deliberately killed. They check them in to a local hospice facility awake and alert and, within days, they're drooling and unresponsive and soon dead.

But first, let me say that anyone who's not sleeping at the switch knows that euthanasia and assisted suicide are expanding  at an alarming rate. Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Belgium have been murder capitols for years and now Canada has joined the killing spree and is considering taking it a step further - to kill "mature minors" without parental consent. (One presumes the parents will be called after death to remove the body and pay for the funeral.)

I wrote the piece below in 2003 during the drawn out court battle trying to save Terri Schiavo. Two years later, her family lost the fight and she was starved and dehydrated to death dying on March 31, 2005. Her murder followed that of Hugh Finn and many others sacrificed on Moloch's altar. They have been joined since then by tens of thousands of others only a few of whom make the news like baby Alfie Evans.

A pro-life colleague called me last night to pick my brain about the Terri Schindler Schiavo euthanasia murder of fifteen years ago. We both travelled to Florida at the time to participate in a press conference outside the nursing home where Michael Schiavo had Terri under police guard to make sure no one gave her a sip of water or a bite of food. Like the infants left on the hillside to perish in ancient Rome, Terri too had to die -- burning up like the Christians Nero covered in pitch and lit on fire to illuminate his garden.  And local authorities would ensure no rescuers, including Terri's parents and siblings, could intervene. The horror included Michael, Terri's husband, and his paramour covering Terri in blankets to increase her dehydration.

Vulnerable elderly need our vigilance!

I received the email below from my colleague Betty Wickham of Life Tree yesterday. We're a little behind the ball on this, but it's absolutely essential to take action. Call it an Advent Action against our modern day Herods who target the vulnerable. 

As I read the bill, it's about funding the education of "care teams" who are being trained in the new palliative approach that isn't about caring for patients, but caring for the bottom line. Palliative care today is more about saving money than caring for patients. Teams are trained to urge patients to refuse treatment. 

Every time I go to a "care meeting" with my sister at her nursing home, the staff bring up "the form" again which is a subtle pressure to refuse end-of-life care and choose non-treatment. For example, one question is about refusing intubation. If I had encouraged my sister to do that she would likely be dead. During a bout with pneumonia last year she was on a ventilator in ICU for about 24 hours. She would probably have died without it.

It looks like one more victory for the culture of death, but it isn't! Where sin abounds, grace abounds even more. The agony of Alfie in the hospital room and his personal crucifixion ends up, like Christ's, in Resurrection and Pentecost.

I'm praying to little Alfie for the defeat of the satanic forces working to gut the 8th Amendment to the Irish Constitution (May 25th) that defends the right of babies in the womb. I have no doubt the little warrior is on the job!

Alfie Evans is dead -- murdered very systematically by a tyrannical health service backed up by a liberal, gay friendly judge. It's no real surprise, is it? We're accustomed to the headlines. We followed the story of Charlie Gard. 

As a mother and grandmother I have a hard time wrapping my mind around this kind of evil where doctors and judges can snatch the authority over children from good parents who love and care for their little ones and deliberately conspire to kill them. Why?

And the new standard is don't waste money treating those the medical establishment considers defective. Just say they're "dying" (aren't we all?) and deny them ordinary care, i.e., food and water. We all die very quickly without hydration and nutrition!

 Maybe if Alfie's parents were same sex
he would have been more sympathetic. Ya think?

What we're seeing in Alfie's case is a quality of life evaluation that Judge Hayden put very succinctly when he basically swept aside Alfie's humanity saying, "The brain cannot regenerate itself and there is virtually nothing of his brain left." [Oh...and by the way, Hayden is a pro-gay activist. He also condemned to starvation a woman with minimal consciousness. One is tempted to ask if he would like someone to judge his life as he's judged others.]

For a judge to make himself a medical expert in a case he is deciding is seriously problematic.

Alfie's Treatment is a Warning; This is the New "Palliative Care," The "Third Path" to Euthanasia

Life Tree has an interesting and enlightening article about the Third Path, which is a method of "passive euthanasia" that encourages people to reject even ordinary treatment (food and water and ordinary medication) to bring about death. If people don't choose it, however, there's often a creative way to impose it. Here's a bit from the article:

“Under traditional medical ethics, the guiding principle is ‘do no harm.’ But contemporary bioethics abandons this…in an effort to find the utilitarian goal of the ‘greatest good for the greatest number.’ Under these principles, preserving the life of the human patient is not considered paramount.”

My friend Betty from Life Tree sent out a message that should make every Catholic ask what is happening to the Pontifical Academy for Life (PAV). Pope Francis gutted the old organization which was filled with orthodox, pro-life Catholics and created a new academy filled with individuals committed to moral evils, among them those who advocate abortion and euthanasia (Nigel Biggar for one). Makes sense, eh, -- a Catholic organization that invites those advocating the devil's agenda to be members? Well, that is indeed the "new" strategy under Pope Francis where people like population control extremist Paul Ehrlich is invited to speak at conferences.

Here's Betty's email with my observations in red:

The message is changing at the PAV faster than a speeding bullet! Less than six months after Drs Kathy Foley and Daniel Sulmasy (George Soros Project on Death in America scholars) became new members the Pontifical Academy for Life read what is happening now! The Vatican is including more and more enemies of life in its conferences and in its academies. Most dicasteries at the Vatican can no longer be trusted to stand for Catholic truth.

Nurses' Association Joins the Death Peddlers

Remember the midwives of Egypt during the slave days of the chosen people? They refused to kill the male babies telling the authorities that the Israelite women delivered without their help before they could arrive. Hence, they avoided becoming cooperators in infant killing. 

But that was then and this is now.

The American Nurses Association (ANA) recently amended their statement on Nutrition and Hydration at the End of Life. The amended document approves of assisting patients to kill themselves by starvation and dehydration, even those who are suffering from dementia. The language is specifically geared to make their decision sound like it respects the dignity of the patient, as if any preference of a patient is legitimate. But what this does is to endanger nurses who don't want to cooperate in evil, as well as the patients for whom they care.

....because he will have no "quality of life."  

Now why does that remind me of the German doctors in the Third Reich who ran the T4 euthanasia program? You know, that was the program:

to kill incurably ill, physically or mentally disabled, emotionally distraught, and elderly people. Adolf Hitler initiated this program in 1939, and, while it was officially discontinued in 1941, killings continued covertly until the military defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945. (Source)

Belgian Brothers to allow euthanasia for mentally ill patients

Well, really...instead of driving out demons (some of which are in your head) Jesus should have just euthanized everybody who wasn't "normal" in the eyes of the world. The "Brothers of Charity" will have to change their name to the "Brothers of No Charity."

The euthanasia proponents always claim there are safeguards in place, but these things (like abortion) have a way of becoming killing on demand. The worst part is that someone in his/her right mind who chooses this is likely to enter eternity under a portal that reads, "Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Here."

The "city of angels" apparently harbors plenty of devils who see a brain damaged child as a burden to be eliminated as quickly as possible.
