Log Cabin Republicans: Under the Depraved Circus Tent

CAUTION: NOT FOR CHILDREN!

Some in the Republican party say the "big tent" can hold everyone. But how can a tent stand when some of the folks inside are hacking at the support poles? The Log Cabin Republicans want smaller government except when it comes to using government to advance their X-rated depraved circus. The video below is not for children but children, as you will see, were exposed to the real thing. "Gays" use children like Planned Parenthood does: exploiting them for their own purposes. Just as PP approves of statutory rape and covers it up, the Log Cabin Republicans approve of behavior and legislation that make a mockery of family values. Republicans need to choose. Do they want to attract those who defend the family and children or do they want to open the tent to those who exploit children and destroy their innocence? A tent divided against itself will fall faster than the house built on sand. Americans for Truth asks you to send this video to your members in Congress, especially the Republicans. The party is in danger of going the way of the Whigs, a political party that imploded over the question of slavery. Will the Republicans follow them in self destruction? If they continue their "big tent" strategy the answer is pretty clear.

The truth about global warming in the District of Columbia

Well, the truth is out. The cause of global warming, at least in the District of Columbia, is all those gas bags in Congress emitting hot air. As soon as they all left town temperatures dropped way below normal. Hey, I'm not kidding. Check it out here. Research is still necessary to explain the drop in June temperatures in many other parts of the world. Maybe all the politicians in those locales went on vacation as well.

Confusion and chaos rattle the Church

Confusion reigns these days even at the highest level of the Church. Members of the hierarchy spout nonsense and people listen, especially the enemies of the Church who promulgate the treachery far and wide. The official newspaper of the Vatican, L'Osservatore Romano, shows an editorial policy favorable to dissent, leading to further confusion in the pews as errors are picked up and passed on by secular mouthpieces that revel in the falsehoods. Here are just a few examples of the growing chaos that challenges faithful Catholics: Abortion in Brazil Last Spring the case of a little girl in Brazil who was pregnant with twins due to rape by her stepfather hit the news. Ultimately, the babies were aborted. The archbishop of Olinda and Recife, José Cardoso Sobrinhowho, tried to save the twins and protect the young girl. In a final move to stop the abortion, he warned the adults working to procure the abortion of excommunication (which is automatic in these situations). The little girl, of course, as an innocent victim (twice over) was not included. What happened next was absolutely unconscionable! Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Academy for Life in Rome wrote an article in L'Osservatore Romano condemning the actions of the archbishop and defending the abortion. Claiming to stand for the little girl in opposition to Archbishop Cardoso, he based his article on numerous errors: that the child's life was in danger from the pregnancy, that only abortion would save her, that the archbishop and local Church authorities did nothing for the girl and her family, etc. None of this was true. Archbishop Cardoso attempted to have L'Osservatore Romano tell his side of the story to no avail. The Chiesa website carries the full story complete with background information and links to both Archbishop Fisichella's article and Archbishop Cardoso's response. It is crystal clear that the Church, through the local parish priest, from the very beginning offered help and support to the grandmother of the twins and her little daughter. The 9-year-old was never in a life-threatening situation from the pregnancy despite Archbishop Fisichella's uninformed statements. It's also clear that Fisichella never spoke to the local Church to determine the truth of the matter. As for L'Osservatore Romano, Archbishop Cardoso laments that the newspaper will not allow him to defend himself against the unjust charges. Adding to the confusion, on July 1st the Vatican accepted the resignation of Archbishop Cardoso who is 76 and beyond the mandatory age of retirement. The acceptance of his resignation at that time contributed to the illusion that he is the guilty party being chastised when, in fact, he has upheld the truth and the teachings of the Church against unfair criticism and scandalous support for the abortion by Archbishop Fisichella. Chiesa's Sandro Magister ended the article asking some serious questions:

Brain Death and Organ Donation, Part II

Phil Lawler discusses the sad case of Nathaniel Turner, apparently beaten til nearly dead by his violent father, killed by live dissection for his vital organs. What a world!

Waiting for my Choose Life License Plates

The law in Virginia allowing a "Choose Life" vanity plate went into effect July 1st and the DMV began taking orders on the 2nd. Since I prepaid for two sets, I'm eagerly awaiting their arrival sometime this month. The sale of every plate assists women in crisis pregnancies. So if you live in Virginia and you're pro-life don't hide your light under a boring old standard plate. Get this instead:

Kmiec's Payoff: Ambassador to Malta

Well, the payoff is official. Doug Kmiec, the supposedly pro-life Catholic who backed the most pro-abortion politician ever to run for public office is getting his reward. He helped Obama win the Catholic vote masquerading as someone who would make abortion rare. In reality Obama has increased the murder of the innocent exponentially since taking office and is working hard to reduce protection for other vulnerable Americans like the elderly and the handicapped while he undermines the conscience rights of medical personnel and others who oppose the culture of death.

The organizations Kmiec helped advance, Catholics United and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, are front groups for the democratic party funded by anti-Catholic billionaire George Soros who also funds Catholics for a Free Choice. Their purpose is to promote liberalism and democratic political candidates. Many of the individuals on the boards and speakers bureaus of these organizations work actively with groups that promote abortion, same-sex marriage, and other liberal agenda items

Here are just a few of Kmiec's betrayals of Catholic truth:

He misrepresented the bishops' document on politics, Faithful Citizenship, to convince Catholics one can be justified in voting for pro-abortion candidates. Archbishop Chaput of Denver challenged him to deliver a pro-life Obama. (Has anyone noticed Obama moving to a more pro-life position?)

He participated in the charade that Kansas under radical pro-abort Kathleen Sibelius reduced abortions and she was responsible. Sibelius' policies had nothing to do with it according to researcher Michael New at the University of Alabama.

Kmiec has proposed an end to states recognizing legal marriage as a "solution" to the gay marriage debate. Legal scholar Robert George has called that a "terrible idea" that would undermine the family.

In July 2008 Fr. Richard John Neuhaus called Kmiec "deeply confused" and guilty of "tortured reasoning and misrepresentation of the positions of others." Tom Roeser also wrote a powerful piece on Kmiec's betrayal in March of 2008 during the campaign. He lamented that Kmiec, a friend, appeared to be selling out for ambition. In view of the results, Kmiec has apparently succeeded. Support for Obama has bought him a sweet assignment to one of the most Catholic countries in the world. Was this what Kmiec had in mind when he sold out the unborn or does Kmiec believe his own rhetoric? Who can say? Who can read another man's soul?

St. Thomas Aquinas says that no one ever chooses evil. He rationalizes what he wishes to choose as good and then chooses the good that he sees. Some of the greatest evils in history have been committed under a veil of supposed goodness. Doug Kmiec has won an ambassorship, but in the process has he, as Tom Roeser asks, betrayed his God?

Read his lips: Obama is George Bush Sr. on Tax Promise

Well, some of us knew that Barry O. was lying when he said that he wouldn't raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year. But Barry's press man won't come right out and admit it. So he wiggles and squirms and plays word games and the press laughs out loud. Remember what the media did to Bush Sr. when he backtracked on his "Read my lips: no new taxes" promise. Think Barry will get it from the press corps now, or is the love affair still in the early days before betrayal finally wakes up the enamored lover?

Brain Death and Organ Donation

I've been following the argument about "brain death" and organ donation for several years. It was an impersonal discussion for me until the end of last month when a friend's son was in an ATV accident and landed in the hospital in a coma and on a ventilator. He was showing some improvement a week after the accident and then brain swelling cut off the circulation to part of his brain and the hospital started agitating to do an apnea test where they turn off the ventilator for a few minutes to see if the patient breathes on his own.

That triggered the memory of an article I read by Dr. Paul Byrne who said the apnea test often hurts the patient's chances for recovery, causing irreversible brain damage, and begins the process of organ donation. If the patient doesn't breathe on his own the hospital will declare the patient "brain dead," turn the ventilator back on to keep the organs fresh, and begin the process of acquiring and extracting his organs. The patient is still, in fact, very much alive and the removal of vital organs is what actually causes death. You can't live without a heart!

In a culture of death the "harvesting" of organs from patients, even living patients, isn't hard to justify. After all, the babies have been "harvested" for years -- for cosmetics, vaccines, and more recently, embryonic stem cells. Besides, "nobody would want to live like that" (i.e., brain-damaged, unwanted, useless, etc.). People are now one more commodity to buy and sell. There's lots of money in organ donation. Learn more about how people are being hustled into the afterlife, especially young people in traumatic accidents with good healthy organs. There are some real horror stories out there.

For more on brain death and organ donation go here and here.

Please pray for my friends' son and all those facing these tragedies and trying to defend their loved ones from an increasingly pragmatic medical profession that sees sick patients not as individuals to be saved, but organ farms to be harvested.
