What You Have Belongs to Allah

Did you know that if you worked all your life and now are retired and living in the country in a nice home, that all your land, your house and everything in it belongs to Islam? Did any of us know that Mt Vernon never belonged to George Washington, but rather to Muslims? Who knew that the American Indians were Muslim! Certainly they don't since they're proud of their Indian heritage and millions of Americans are likewise interested in Indian history. The land I live on, the state in which I grew up and all the orange trees in it, the alligators under the lake waters and snakes on dry land, the birds of the sky and fishes of the sea all belong to Islam. 

Who knew! Well, I did, but now I want to make sure you know it too so that you might understand what's going on with Islam creeping into our daily lives. Looking back, I ask what did Islam have to do with Old Orlando's Delaney Park Elementary School all those decades ago? Nothing! What did Islam have to do with my college education, living in Italy, all the horses I galloped at Hialeah Racetrack, my marriage, my divorce, my children, my LIFE?  Nothing! Nada. Niente. Zip.

During the agony in the U.K. over precious sick baby Charlie Gard, I kept thinking of the soup nazi on the TV comedy Seinfeld. Only the fight wasn't an on-going joke over a bowl of soup, but a real-life struggle over the life of a child and the parental rights of his mom and dad.

You can tell a lot about the philosophy of a person by the decisions he makes. There isn't much online about Nicholas Francis, the presiding high court judge who ruled over the Charlie Gard case. But he clearly has little regard for the Catholic teaching that parents are the primary decision makers over their children. Francis ruled in favor of the hospital's death wish every time the parents appeared in court.

Another Charlie Gard? Is This Little Girl Another Imperfect Pancake?

You know when I make pancakes sometimes I put one on the pan before it's hot enough or, on the other hand, the pan is too hot. The pancake comes out very anemic-looking or burnt to a crisp. Sometimes I just set it aside as not quite good enough to serve guests. 

Is that what our children are now? Imperfect pancakes? The ones set aside for the dog or the trash? Just try again for the perfect pancake?

This reminded me of a friend years ago. She went to the hospital emergency room for what turned out to be type 2 diabetes. She thought she was pregnant at the time and, like many doctors today, the attending physician asked her if she wanted the pregnancy.

Whose life is not worth living? If you're feeling sorry for yourself this morning, get some inspiration from Andy Short and his trainer, Lee Campbell. When I watched this I thought of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan. Andy and Lee are doing great things together. May God bless this beautiful adventure. I think Mother Teresa would say Andy and Lee are doing "something beautiful for God." Thanks be to God for Andy's parents who loved him unconditionally and never gave up on him.

Editor's Note: It is good to know the history of any movement and, certainly, the devastation in the Church occurred following the Council and the sexual revolution precipitated by the pill. It' is a logical fallacy, however, to say that because something follows something it shows a cause and effect relationship. So was Vatican II the reason for the collapse of the faith on so many fronts? Its implementation certainly unsettled things, to say the least. I remember the clown Masses and the casual and often irreverent home Masses with practices like married couples communicating each other and priest sans vestments except for a stole. 

Just to be clear, Les Femmes does not question the validity of the Novus Ordo Mass (although we have questioned the validity of certain Masses we've attended in the Novus Ordo form like one in Hampton Roads). What do you think about this, readers?

Challenging the Death Peddlars: Charlie Gard and Jahi McMath

The death peddlars may have won a round in the U.K. with their soon-to-be elimination of little Charlie Gard. His death will be a victory for the law of self-fulfilling prophecies. Charlie's case was hopeless they said and they went about making sure their medical opinion was verified by his death. Had Charlie received the experimental treatment his parents wanted in JANUARY, the little boy might be improving and doing well today like so many other miracle babies. 

Well, there's a new round coming up with the case of Jahi McMath who was declared dead by a California coroner in 2013, but continues to live today. (Jahi McMath’s family wins backing for argument that she’s alive.) Jahi requires a ventilator to help her breathe, but she is very much alive. Can a dead body begin menstruating? Jahi did. Can a dead body grow and require hair cuts and nail clipping? Jahi does. Can a dead body respond to commands to move? Jahi moves and responds to commands by family members.

Doctors and judges aren't gods. Unfortunately, many of them are confused and think they are. And so they make decisions about the "quality" of life of patients and often devalue those that, in their godlike opinions, just don't measure up.

Charlie Gard has taught us a lot. He's taught us that many parents don't have the right to make medical decisions for their children any more. He's taught us that many doctors resemble Dr. Mengele more than Dr. Schweitzer and that radical judges and courts are modern "Big Brothers."

And he's taught us that the spirit of the Third Reich is alive and well in the U.K.

Just as doctors and judges devalued life in Germany through the T4 euthanasia program, the doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London followed in the footsteps of those sames doctors who put checks next to the names of the retarded, WW I amputees, and other "useless eaters" marked for death.
