CCRI's list of board member and advisors is a who's who of dissent. Here are a few of the more well-known heretics: Hans King, Joan Chittister, and Anthony Padovano (CORPUS) and then there was one less notorious, except to me, Rea Howarth. Rea was one of the Call to Action (CTA) dissenters in Arlington who spurred the creation of Les Femmes. (Whenever I see her name I think of her silly "feminist rosary.")
CCRI's first action was a letter writing campaign to Bishops and the Pope prior to the Synod. They chortle on their website (to which I will not link) that:
So what do they stand for? On their "primary focus" page they list these objectives:
At any rate, these moles will spend the next year (using Soros money in some cases) to lobby for abandonment of doctrine and a new Church that looks amazingly Protestant in its loosey-goosey "creed" of anything goes. (No insult intended to those Protestant denominations that look more Catholic than some Catholic dioceses.)
Dissenters in our midst will never succeed in destroying the Church, but they can certainly scandalize clueless Catholics and imitate the pharisees in making converts to their wicked agenda who are "more fit for hell than they are themselves." (Matt 23:15) Pray for these poor, deluded heretics that they will return to the faith before they lay down their gray heads and die. I'm still praying for you, Rea, if you read this. Want to meet me for lunch? My treat.
By the way, the photo at the top is Bridget Mary Meehan, another CTA activist from my past, who calls herself a Catholic Bishop these days. I confess I always liked Rea, but I can't say the same about Bridget who was dishonest from the beginning and never minded lying if it suited her agenda..
We have received a letter from the office of Cardinal Sean O’Malley thanking us for our letters. Encouraged by this recognition by a member of the Pope’s advisory council, we are now directing our attention to a second action-oriented phase, namely, our Forum on the Family to be held in Rome just prior to the Extraordinary Synod in October 2014.Actually, if you read the letter, all it did was acknowledge receipt and was signed by the Cardinal's secretary. So much for their breathless reaction.
So what do they stand for? On their "primary focus" page they list these objectives:
While this is couched in euphemistic language, what they are calling for, among other things, is women's ordination, change in the Church's sexual ethics including approval of birth control and homosexual relations, Communion for the divorced and invalidly remarried, optional celibacy in the priesthood, and on and on...the usual dissent litany.
- Transformational return to the Gospel message of Jesus
- Selection and election of bishops
- Decentralization and co-responsibility
- Accountability, transparency and inclusiveness
- Gender equality in every aspect of mission, ministry, and decision making
- Listening to the voice of the People of God, the sensus fidelium.
