Plenty of bad news today!
The Extraordinary Synod on the Family released its interim report which is not binding in any way, but is troubling to say the least. You can find it at the Vatican website and run it off for yourself and read it. The document contributes to the ongoing confusion of the Francis pontificate. An especially troubling factor is that the pope stacked the group writing the report (who were selected by the synod fathers) with liberals including Cardinal Donald Wuerl.
As for the content of the report, one "well-know reporter" described described it to Michael Voris saying, "Michael, this is revolutionary!"
We've seen revolutions in the Church before. They aren't pretty. Watch the Vortex below.
What a mess! I am beginning to wonder if we have Pope Obama?
ReplyDeleteI admit that I didn't watch the video. I stopped listening to Mr. Voris awhile ago amidst his patent refusal to state the obvious....that this is all at the Pope's instigation. Mr. Voris is of the mindset that Catholics can't criticize the Pope. So tell me, is he now freaking out about the Synod but still refusing to accept the Pope's role in the mess and heresy?
ReplyDeleteThe synod is beginning to resemble how healthcare legislation came about. Is Kaspercare up to the same deceits?

In view of his comments about the pope stacking the writing group, I think he may be waking up. Let's hope so.
ReplyDeleteBishop Loverde retires in Sep. 15. Wuerl will probably have a huge role in choosing Loverde's replacement. That is very bad news for the Arlington Diocese.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I believe that even Michael Voris is beginning to connect the dots, but it certainly took him long enough. Me, I prejudged, waving a caution flag to everyone who would listen that selecting a Jesuit and a closet supporter of liberation theology as the new pope was going to be very damaging to the Church. My prejudgement was on the mark, I am sad to say. Unfortunately, most Catholics are lemmings so they will go right along with whatever the Pope Francis says.
ReplyDelete@Philip: Yes, most are lemings or just plain "liberal" Catholics. All of my family members fall into that camp, sadly. But I am glad to hear that Michael Voris is peaking out of the sandbox. As you say, better late than never. I personally would love to see some good old fashioned, no-holds-barred, strong and unmistakably clear yelling from the Bishops (like Burke), very publicly and repeatedly.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting article in the Catholic Herald U.K. Well worth a read. http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/commentandblogs/2014/10/14/the-english-version-of-the-synod-document-is-quite-frankly-a-disgrace-whoever-is-responsible-for-it-should-be-ashamed/

ReplyDeleteAmen, Elizabeth. But don't expect to see it from the U.S. bishops. Two thirds of them covered up the sex abuse scandals. Many are politicians and the Vatican political climate these days doesn't seem to favor a "no holds barred" defense of the faith.
@Mary Ann: Yes, unfortunately, you're probably right. But I have hope that we may be surprised. +Burke. +Cordileone, come to mind, for Americans. I'm still hoping.
ReplyDeleteWhat you see as the "smoke of Satan" just may be the Holy Spirit working among us.
ReplyDelete"A house divided against itself can't stand."
ReplyDeleteIf two people are diametrically opposed over an issue, they can both be wrong; but they can't both be right. In view of the division among the bishops, I'd say you have to choose. Either doctrine is being undermined at the Synod or it isn't. I trust Cardinal Burke's assessment more than Cardinal Kasper's.
