Illinois Senate Ignores History, Passes ERA; House Should Not Take Up

St. Louis MO: Illinois State Senators today chose to ignore the warnings of Phyllis Schlafly and pass the expired Equal Rights Amendment. It passed by a vote of 42-12. Now it heads to the House where Representatives must remember the lesson of history that Phyllis Schlafly and her grassroots workers were right about the doomed ERA. The ERA was a bad idea back in the 70s and 80s and it's still a bad idea today. That doesn't keep liberals in Congress from reintroducing legislation every session. There are several ERA bills in the current Congress. 
Phyllis Schlafly was the primary mover behind the Stop ERA movement and her reasoning is just as correct today as it was then.We need to make sure this poltergeist never makes a return. It's an anti-woman, anti-family movement.
