The hypocrisy of the Left never fails to astound me, although at this point it shouldn't. If a leftist opens his/her/it's/theirs/cis/xyr/etc. mouth, he/she/they/etc. is either lying, spouting a stream of obscenities, or engaging in a tsunami of hypocrisy.
Substack has plenty of sty sitters today making scathing remarks about Trump and MAGA supporters following the president's, "Quiet, Piggy." comment to a female reporter. Was that rude? Yes. Do I approve? No.
Women are called to be ladies and men are called to be gentlemen. Is Trump a gentleman? No. Are all the f-spouting talking liberal heads in the media gentlemen. No! Are AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Whoopie Goldberg, Rachel Maddow, etc. etc. etc. ladies? H-NO!
So shut up already! (Is that rude? Yes! Am I going to apologize? NO!)
I have to buy a new hypocrisy meter cuz mine burst over all the insulting, name-calling sewage being dumped on social media. And it's not just aimed at Trump, the offender, but anyone who supports his policies. We are all guilty of Trump's offense.
Well, two can play that game. If MAGA voters are responsible for Trump's actions, then every liberal is guilty of the murder of Charlie Kirk and all the people killed during Antifa/BLM riots in our cities, mass shootings by liberals, etc. You are all Tyler Robinson. You are all the Unabomber. You are all the trans shooter, Robin Westman, who murdered and injured the Annunciation school children attending Mass in Minneapolis.
The incivility these days is turning our country into a Jurassic Park for barbarian predators who hate anyone who disagrees with them. Today my focus of little prayers throughout the day will be for them. Hate is a terrible, disfiguring vice. Please join me in praying for all those with their TDS! It's become epidemic. I think only prayer and fasting can drive out their demons of hate.
I was so angry reading the comments on social media I commented on several. If I had the time, I could spend the next week responding. But I didn't call a single person a disparaging name, although my sarcastic streak wanted to say, "Great comment, Piggy! What a hypocrite you are!" I suppressed the urge and just asked a question. Which is worse, being rude or killing people. When someone said MAGA supporters probably laughed about the Piggy remark, I reminded him about those cheering and dancing over the assassination of Charlie Kirk and all the celebrations over the assassination attempts on President Trump and the disappointment expressed that the assassin failed.
Think I'll go take a cold shower to cool off and pray for the conversion of those who are so filled with hate. Like St. Paul urges, we can pour burning coals of the Holy Spirit's fire on their heads. Whether they respond by repenting and turning to the love of Christ is up to them.
It comes to mind that one mustn't forget the beating and shackling of human beings and children and even a video I saw of a woman being stripped of her clothing by Ice agents across the country. Perhaps that paradox of celebrating any of that - whoever is celebrating contempt, cruelty, scorn etc whatever political or religious affiliation is living in the dark, I think - or self-delusion that any of it is ok.
