Catholics familiar with the outrageous things going on in the Church are all-too-aware of the Diocese of Orange. That's where the Barney Mass took place in 2006 (and may still be going on this weekend for all we know). Fr. Fred Bailey, the "unconventional pastor" is no longer at Corpus Christi and the diocesan website doesn't have a priest directory that I could find so I don't know where he is now. Maybe a reader can tell us.

Opinions of many Catholics are decidedly un-Catholic. Our shepherds better start warning the flock. If they don't, those flaunting God won't be the only ones falling into Gehenna! Read Ezekiel 33. "If the watchman sees the sword coming and fails to blow the warning trumpet...I will hold the watchman responsible...even though that person is taken because of his own sin."
The shepherds are called to be watchmen to save the flock from the wolves. If you were their boss giving evaluating their job performance, what would you write?
USF student newspaper unanimously supports assisted suicide
Wow! Not a single member of the newspaper staff could even "play devil's advocate" to defend the Church's position against assisted suicide, not to mention the government's obligation to defend the common good. These glib students aren't very deep thinkers. Have they considered these questions?
National Abortion Federation Conference in San Francisco
Note the one panelist talking about the poor abortion providers having problems with inflicting pain and killing babies. Don't you feel sorry for them hearing about their "very, very intense feelings," for example, feelings of revulsion?
But then she describes how gross it is when an "eyeball falls into my lap," and everybody bursts out laughing. Hilarious thought, eh? They might be visiting the house of horrors at a Halloween event. Only it's not make believe. The eyeball belonged to a little living soul deliberately murdered as a matter of "choice."

It's important to pray for these people, especially those who haven't been able to totally kill their consciences. Feelings of revulsion are normal when you're doing something revolting. Note how they talk about using feticidal injections to make sure they have a dead baby rather than one who could be resuscitated against a mother's wishes. They know exactly what they are doing. There is no denial here of the reality of the baby as a human life. Pray for their conversion. The murder of the innocent is one of the sins that cries to heaven for vengeance. These poor, deluded souls are in danger of hell unless they repent. Your prayers and sacrifices may provide the grace sufficient for their conversion.

Remember in the gospels how often we read that people followed Jesus because he "spoke with authority." How's that working today do you think? Do those serving in persona Christi inspire confidence because they "speak with authority?" If you had to pick a word or phrase that summed up what Catholics are experiencing now would "speaking with authority" make the list? Not mine (at least for most prelates). Here's my take on the current situation which was confirmed big time by the recent synod. I believe these words describe the state of the Church:
