Rand Paul Rocks!

At least on his approach to answering questions on abortion. The pro-abort crowd always want to talk about protecting a "clump of cells" or exceptions or anything that deflects the debate away from their death dealing extremism.

But the reality is that the Democratic party favors killing unborn babies at any moment up until birth by any means including stabbing them in the neck and sucking out their brains. So when Paul was asked about abortion, he focused on the Democrats' pro-abort extremism. Here's the question from Paul Steinhauser of CNN:

“Senator, the DNC is picking up on comments you made with AP this morning on abortion, and I just wanted to know where you stand on exemptions—should there be any exemptions for abortion or no?”
Here's how Paul responded:
What’s the DNC say? You know, here’s the question. We always seem to have the debate way over here on what are the exact details of exemptions and where it starts. Why don’t we ask the DNC if it’s okay to kill a 7-pound baby in the uterus. You go back and you ask Debbie Wasserman Schultz if she’s okay with killing a 7-pound baby that’s not born yet. You ask her when life begins and you ask her if she’s willing to protect life. When you get an answer from Debbie, get back to me.
Good for Paul. Every Republican candidate needs to take a page from his strategy. Pound the extremism of the Democrats who not only won't protect a full term baby but don't want legislation to protect an aborted baby born alive. The mom wants a dead baby, she has a right to a dead baby so drop the kid in a bucket and cover "it" with medical waste until it stops squirming and whimpering. That, they say, is the American way of "choice." Looks an awful lot like Sophie's choice in the Third Reich if you ask me.

But you can see what Paul said for yourself. In the video below go to minute 8:02. Two thumbs up to Senator Paul! And the next time a reporter asks a politician about exceptions I suggest he respond, "If there were a law that allowed people to choose to kill reporters would you want to talk about exceptions or changing the law to protect life?"

  1. Brilliant: "If there were a law that allowed people to choose to kill reporters would you want to talk about exceptions or changing the law to protect life?"

  2. That was fun to watch. I'm not a Rand Paul fan overall but I enjoyed that. The only possible down side is that it appears that he's a bit thin-skinned and irritable. He'd better toughen up. He won't get my vote anyway so I hope he drops out sooner rather than later. But this kind of answer should be instructive for the other more worthy candidates.

  3. What other more worthy candidates? Paul may not be worthy of the Presidency, but I can't think of an actual President or candidate who was in the last 50 years.

  4. @c matt: Perhaps I shouldn't have used the phrase "other more worthy candidates". He's worthy as far as that goes, just not my choice. I'm more interested in Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Rick Perry, Carly Fiorina, Bobby Jindahl.
