When the Homosexual Bullies Come for Your Business -- Give it to "Em!

I absolutely love this from Fr. Z. Let's face it; the homosexuals hate Christians and want to eliminate any opposition to their perverse lifestyle. So, sure, take their business and give them OUR CHRISTIAN LIFESTYE. Here's just a little from Fr. Z:
When some homosexual couple comes to your Christian business for services at their immoral event, don’t panic. Go ahead and take their business!
Then explain what is going to happen next.
One caveat, however, Fr. Z's plan works great for the caterers who will be on site serving, etc. But a wedding cake is delivered, set up, and left. Ditto with the flowers. Of course, an ad can still be placed thanking them for their business and their support for real marriage. But what does the B&B owner do? I suppose they can put crucifixes in the bedrooms and stick green scapulars under the mattresses.

I think I will have to give this more thought, but two thumbs up to Fr. Z for thinking outside the box.

  1. Ad much as I like father z, this approach is the easy way out and won't convince anyone you really stand for anything .

  2. Well, I don't know. They have absolutely no sense of humor and I can see this making them apoplectic.

  3. So maybe the German trains could have agreed to run to the concentration camps, but decorated with crosses, maybe played some hymns and asked the conductors to wear Christian buttons? I know its not the same scale of evil, but I do believe that there is a better option for Christian businesspeople - just say "no" and fight it legally. Why can't some good Catholic lawyers help bring a bigotry case against the homosexuals who would deny a child a parent of either sex?

  4. I'm not sure they can fight it legally since the laws are being changed to give homosexuals special rights. We're living in a society that makes it impossible not to cooperate in evil on some level. We cooperate in abortion by paying our taxes for example (and a lot of other evils as well). It's getting harder and harder just to live a normal life without being dragged into evil stuff. You can hardly shop anywhere that you don't support a company doing evil. Try to find a drug store that doesn't sell abortifacient drugs or contraceptives. You can't say no without completely withdrawing from society. And how do you do that.

  5. The legal strategy of hoisting homosexuals on their own bigoted petard has never been tried. But their discrimination against the opposite sex in marriage is a most fundamental example of sex discrimination.

  6. It would be interesting to see what would happen if a caterer tried what Fr. Z suggests. My expectation is they would go elsewhere but still attack the business as hateful bigots so it might make no difference in term of the persecution to the Christian business.

  7. Well, there is a big problem for Catholics. We are FORBIDDEN to materially cooperate in evil. We MAY NOT bake that same sex "wedding" cake, and we MAY NOT participate in the ceremony or the same sex adoption or drive the getaway car for the bank robber. Father is asking us to do something morally wrong, to directly and closely cooperate in evil. Granted, baking the cake is not essential to the ceremony, so we are allowed to bake it IF under threat of our lives.

  8. The cooperation cited with abortion and other immoralities is indirect, via taxation. Now Obamacare has taken one dollar from each of us specifically for abortion, rubbing our noses in direct cooperation (but not letting us know when it is happening). But the wedding cake is direct material cooperation.

  9. But is it direct cooperation? If I were an altar server or the choir director leading the music or actively participating in the "wedding" ceremony or attending it and showing my approval, I would agree that is direct cooperation. I'm not sure baking the cake is direct material cooperation. The baker has nothing to do with the ceremony. He is providing refreshments for the party. Does that constitute direct or indirect cooperation? I would want the opinion of a moral theologian on that one because I'm not sure.

  10. To support a wedding reception is to support the wedding. The way wedding vendors advertise is by publicising their prior weddings - and even the couples post public pics of their weddings and vendors (they will make sure to crop any "Catholic" decorations from the pix - so this Z proposal is guaranteed to spread the scandal of Catholics supporting homosex marriage like wildfire.

Regardless of the type of collaboration it is, it is capitulation that will isolate other business owners who want to make a stand. The Christian "decorations" are lipstick on a pig. Z is seldom wrong, but this is one of those times.

  11. The only thing evil going on here is your organization trying to treat homosexuals like they aren't children of god.

  12. That's nonsense. I'm presuming you're a homosexual who's playing the game -- If you don't love my sin, you don't love me.

I used to get that argument from my kids when they were teenagers (or still acting like teenagers). I loved them enough not to cave into their emotional blackmail.

Homosexuality isn't a lifestyle; it's a deathstyle. My husband and I are about to say our rosary and I'm offering it for you.

If you really knew God you would know He wants you to give up your sin and accept His embrace. He doesn't want any of His children to go to hell, but He won't play second fiddle to the idolatry of lust.

As a great sinner once said in a prayer to Our Lord, "Our hearts are restless until they rest in you."
