Pro-Life Faculty at Notre Dame Address University President Fr. John Jenkins

It's good to know that there are at least a few faculty members at Notre Dame who are challenging the university's abortion/contraception health coverage. Please pray that Fr. Jenkins attendance at the March so touched his heart that he will rescind the evil policy that the administration has put in place that allows the murder of babies, the attack on innocence, and the violation of parental rights. Please, Notre Dame alumni, write to the school and object to their very anti-Catholic behavior. It's hard to understand an ordained priest shaking his fist at God. One wonders what the underlying motivation is: money? power? blackmail? There must be more to the story considering the damage to Notre Dame's reputation by fighting for the exemption as a conscience issue and then immediately doing a 180 and voluntarily instituting the mandate. Yup, Fr. Jenkins in his philacteries and bells is leading Notre Dame's delegation to the March for Life.

This is the same Fr. Jenkins who made a point of crucifying pro-lifers who protested Notre Dame honoring Obama.  And if that doesn't make his presence the hypocrisy of the year, he is also responsible for making sure that faculty and students can kill babies in the womb with abortifacient birth control provided in the school's health plan.

As my mom used to say, "Actions speak louder than words!" and Notre Dame buried its Catholic identity a long time ago. Theodore Hesburgh was the chief grave digger, but current president Fr. John Jenkins has picked up the shovel and continues digging with enthusiasm.

You remember Fr. Jenkins, right? He's the  university head bureaucrat who gushed and drooled over Obama at the 2009 graduation while he targeted real Catholics for protesting and carrying signs on campus. Can't let those rigid, fanatical Catholics who actually believe what the Church teaches rain on his parade, right?

Notre Dame used to honor the Blessed Mother. Her image towers over the campus. But these days Notre Dame's "lady" is more likely to be a lesbian. It's time for someone to mount the dome and remove the statue there. Not only is Mary's presence a lie, since the university honors neither her nor her son, but it is also a blasphemy in view of the numerous scandals perpetrated by the administration. Their actions are the equivalent of plastering Mary with elephant dung like the notorious blasphemous art work.

But what is worse in God's eyes? For a secular, unbelieving bigot to desecrate an image of Mary or for a prestigious, well-known Catholic university run by men whose order is named for Mary's Son Jesus to promote perverse lifestyles,  celebrate lewd sex, and honor those who advocate murdering the innocent? I don't think that question is hard to answer. Jesus always held the Israelites to a higher standard because they were His chosen own.

And the writing is already on the wall that Notre Dame will cave on the HHS contraceptive mandate. Fr. John Jenkins chortled in February over President Obama's bogus "compromise" which was nothing of the sort. Does anyone really believe the Notre Dame administration will fight for a faith they already treat with contempt? And many Catholic schools caved long ago.

Tonight I watched A Man for All Seasons. I had a different feeling about the movie than I've ever had before. We are living it. Not only does our Church in the United States lack men like Thomas More who stand for the truth, but many are clones of the pathetic little swine Richard Rich who perjured himself for Wales. How many men like Fr. Jenkins at Notre Dame will sell themselves to party with the powerful and pander for federal money? We live in tragic times. But nothing's new under the sun. Fr. Jenkins reminds me of Richard Rich. His duplicity during the Obama commencement debacle and his vicious treatment of the protesters known as the Notre Dame 88 speak for themselves. Pray for him and other clerics of his ilk who bring such disgrace on our beloved Church.

Notre Dame 88 Still in the Middle of It

Remember when our abortion extremist president spoke at Notre Dame's (ND) graduation while cops arrested pro-lifers outside? When was that? ...Let's see...May 2009...have you forgotten already? Well, the 88 pro-lifers arrested haven't. They are still in the midst of the persecution (oops...) prosecution. They recently claimed a victory, though, when St. Joseph County, Indiana Circuit Court Judge Michael Scopelitis ruled that their lawyers from the Thomas More Society may depose former Notre Dame Student Affairs Administrator William Kirk.

Professor Kirk is interesting. He was the only Notre Dame official who protested the Obama debacle and attended the alternate graduation service at the grotto. He was "abruptly sacked" recently according to Life Site News (LSN). LSN reported the reaction of Notre Dame philosophy professor, David Solomon, who criticized the university's  callous act:

Solomon suggested that Kirk's insistence on maintaining school-wide disciplinary standards for Notre Dame football athletes helped precipitate the move. However, the professor also said the news appears to confirm fears that Kirk's stand against the highly controversial honor to Obama would prove fatal.

"At the time Bill took part in the NDResponse rally, many people commented on the courage it took for him to stand with his wife and other witnesses to this protest of Notre Dame’s decision to award President Obama an honorary degree. I personally discounted these worries, believing that the Notre Dame administration would admire him for his principled stand on a matter so close to the Catholic heart of Notre Dame, even if they disagreed with his particular action," wrote Solomon.

Since the administration welcomed Obama's own "sharp dissent from and attack on central Catholic teaching on life," he continued, "It seemed only reasonable that they would equally welcome dissent from university policy by such a loyal Catholic and member of the Notre Dame family as Bill Kirk — especially when his dissent was made in the name of the Catholic principles at Notre Dame’s heart and in the company of his bishop.

"Perhaps, alas, there was reason for Bill Kirk to be worried about his participation in NDResponse after all."

Fr. Jenkins' Abortion Connections

For those who missed the Washington Times editorial that included Fr. Jenkins' abortion connection here it is, from Booing Notre Dame. (No wonder Fr. Jenkins "refused comment."):

The Rev. John I. Jenkins, president of Notre Dame, remains defiant about honoring Mr. Obama and said last month, "We're just so proud to have him." The priest's own associations place him further at odds with his church. Father Jenkins is a member of the board of directors of Millennium Promise, an organization ostensibly organized to fight poverty. A closer look exposes a darker agenda. One of Millennium Promise's major initiatives is Millennium Villages, a joint project with the United Nations Development Program and Columbia University's Earth Institute that promotes "reproductive rights" as a solution to poverty in the Third World, especially in Africa.

In a chapter on "Maternal and Child Health" in the June 2008 Millennium Villages Handbook, one of the organization's "core interventions" is listed as "abortion services." The handbook states: "In countries where abortion is legal, safe abortion services in controlled settings by skilled practitioners should be established." To make abortion more accessible in remote areas, the action plan advises that abortion services need to be expanded to the village level. In a subsection of the handbook titled "Quick Impact Initiatives for Gender," one of the "strategic priorities" is to "expand access to family planning and contraceptive information and services." Father Jenkins refused to comment to The Washington Times, but surely he knows that abortion and artificial contraceptives are prohibited by the Catholic Church.

Bishop D'Arcy corrects Fr. Jenkins

As the scandal at Notre Dame continues, Fr. John Jenkins just digs himself a deeper and deeper hole. Over 300,000 concerned faithful have signed the petition at the Cardinal Newman Society website calling for revocation of the invitation to President Obama. That he is being given an honorary Law Degree is especially scandalous in view of his promoting laws that directly attack the innocent unborn. Isn't that like giving an honorary degree to a member of the KKK who supported enslavement of black Americans?

Bishop John D'Arcy, under whose jurisdiction Notre Dame is located, issued a stinging rebuke correcting and clarifying Fr. Jenkins' scandalous words. Let us pray he takes the bishop's words to heart. Up to now he's given the the verbal equivalent of the single digit salute to his critics. But no one is beyond the reach of prayer, so I urge readers to offer the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for this university president who appears to care more for the opinion of the world's high and mighty than for the Master he was ordained to serve.
