With the 50th anniversary of Humanae Vitae (HV) coming up, we'll no doubt see many articles reflecting the history of the birth control wars. I read one this morning
describing what was happening in 2012 under the Obama administration. (Here's another.) These reflect not only the impact of the collapse in morality spurred by the 1960s revolution, but more recent Democrat strategies to further undermine morality by manipulating Catholics.

Two generations after HV the smoldering wreckage was being fanned into flames by liberals on the hill using Catholic front groups and the complicit mainstream media who share their agenda.

....and calling yourself a Catholic University sure doesn't make you one!

As my mom used to say, "Actions speak louder than words!" and Notre Dame buried its Catholic identity a long time ago. Theodore Hesburgh was the chief grave digger, but current president Fr. John Jenkins has picked up the shovel and continues digging with enthusiasm.

You remember Fr. Jenkins, right? He's the  university head bureaucrat who gushed and drooled over Obama at the 2009 graduation while he targeted real Catholics for protesting and carrying signs on campus. Can't let those rigid, fanatical Catholics who actually believe what the Church teaches rain on his parade, right?

Contraception may be the most serious moral evil ever treated like a ho-hum, no-big-deal societal staple. Think about it. Abortion is a horrendous sin that kills a baby, but that little one will live for all eternity.

Contraception doesn't just will the death of a soul; it wills the non-existence of a soul willed by God. In that sense it is even worse than abortion because a soul is not only physically murdered but denied existence at all.

The question is, will the Supreme Court be the enforcer of Obama's immoral demand? It's clear that Obama's purpose is to force Christians to violate their consciences. As the article below indicates, there were many ways to achieve the government's purpose without forcing people of conscience to cooperate with evil. But that's exactly the point. All must throw their pinch of incense into the bowl to honor the sex god!

Is it any surprise that the backing off began with the Archdiocese of New York? Does anyone expect Cardinal Dolan to show evidence of real backbone. Hey, we wouldn't want Obama to decline the next Al Smith Dinner. While the lawsuit continues, it's pretty clear that the archdiocese isn't going to play hardball which is the only thing tyrants understand.
