Celebrating a pontifical high Mass in Croatia, Archbishop Cordileone said this in a talk before the liturgy:

Guest Post: The grim realities behind barring Nancy Pelosi from Communion Part II

By Robert Marshall

Editor's Note: See Part I here. Yesterday I published the first half of Bob's article. This continues the list of "grim realities" that Nancy Pelosi has inflicted on our country, especially babies in the womb. She is a Catholic by baptism, but an apostate by action. Please pray for her that she will not experience the worst "grim reality" possible on Judgment Day. My comments in red.

Nancy Pelosi—Abolishing Catholic-Christian Health Care

The Charlotte Lozier Institute notes that private Christian health care is especially undermined under the Women’s Health Care Protection Act from 2019, H. R. 2975. Law Professor and religious freedom expert Mark Rienzi points out that “virtually every state in the country has some sort of statute protecting individuals and, in many cases, entities who refuse to provide abortions and ‘[s]ome states expressly limit this protection to the practice of abortion, which is treated specially.’” Moreover:

Guest Post: The grim realities behind barring Nancy Pelosi from Communion Part I

By Robert G. Marshall

Editor's comment; God bless Bob Marshall. I've known him for about fifty years and he is a staunch and faithful advocate of the little ones in the womb and their parents. Abortion doesn't just kill a baby. It kills the love between the man and the woman who conceived the infant together. It kills their souls as well. We must pray that those who commit abortion and those who advocate it, like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who rivals Lady Macbeth in her cold, murderous heart, repent and return to the Lord of Life. Nancy hasn't much longer on planet earth, and it is long past time for her to examine her conscience. How many have lost their souls influenced by her scandals?

As I've said before, Nancy and I have four things in common. First of all, we are both Catholic and attended Catholic schools all the way through college. We share a birthday (she is seven years older). We share an alma mater, Trinity College (now a university) in Washington, D.C. And we both have five children. I pray for Nancy and have sent her letters and Mass cards which are not acknowledged which never surprises me.

What a powerful witness for truth could she be if she publicly acknowledged her sins against life (like Bernard Nathanson did) and became a pro-life warrior. Where there's life, there's hope. Please pray for Nancy today. My comments are in red.

Archbishop Cordileone Undoes with his Left Hand What He Did with his Right!

Well, friends, I checked with a contact in the San Francisco area about whether homosexualist cheerleader James DeWan was ordained to the permanent diaconate on Saturday by Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone. I posted yesterday asking for information about the missing candidate, since ten were scheduled for ordination and only nine attended. I hoped and prayed that the archbishop had better sense than to ordain a man with so scandalous a background who is obviously unfit for ordained ministry in the Church by the Church's own directives!

A Question for Readers in the Archdiocese of San Francisco about the Planned Ordination of Homosexualist Cheerleader James DeWan

Archbishop Cordileone was scheduled to ordain ten men to the permanent diaconate on May 28th. According to reports, James DeWan was one of them, a man with a history of homosexual advocacy and promotion of same sex marriage. Only nine men were ordained on Saturday. Was James DeWan among them? I watched a good bit of the ordination ceremony. I never heard the men's names announced even when they put their hands between the archbishop's and promised obedience. I pray James DeWan was not among these men. He certainly shouldn't have been!

Joseph Sciambra posted screen shots of DeWan's Twitter feed in 2015. DeWan was clearly an enthusiastic apologist for all things homosexual to the extent of being disgusting and blasphemous. I'm posting a few of the screenshots, because I think people need to know and be warned. Would you let your sons associate with this man?

Archbishop Cordileone Sends in the Cavalry!

The attack on Archbishop Cordileone for daring to uphold Catholic teaching in his schools and for supporting Fr. Joseph Illo's decision to use only altar boys continues. What's the archbishop's latest response? He's sending in the cavalry -- another orthodox priest to run Star of the Sea School and support his brother priests.

Three cheers for the archbishop!

Five Pinocchios and two thumbs down to all the liars attacking him and calling for his removal. Join the "waves of global support" by sending a message to the Archbishop. We need to thank and encourage the heroes among the clergy. Those with the heart of a lion willing to enter the coliseum and face the ravening beasts are few and far between. Please support the ones who do.

Church Mice Roar to Defend Archbishop Cordileone from the Dissenters' Snare!

The Church Mouse That Roared!
The "progressive" Catholic elite who hate Church doctrine might want to get their claws into Archbishop Cordileone, but their efforts appear to be backfiring. While 100 prominent, dissenting Catholics signed a full page ad in the San Francisco Chronicle stabbing the archbishop with their long knives and calling for his removal, a poll at SFGate found 86% supporting the archbishop. (The number of voters isn't revealed.)

VOTE NOW TO SUPPORT THE ARCHBISHOP!

What's particularly exciting is that faithful Catholics are organizing an Archbishop Cordileone Support Day Family Picnic at a popular park. The Missionaries of Charity are providing games for the children. There will be a mariachi band, a puppet show, and a bounce house. Attendees are urged to wear blue (for the Blessed Mother?) as a sign of solidarity. The group is providing drinks and asking families to bring their own picnic lunch. Videographers will be on hand to record messages of support for the archbishop or families can pen written messages instead.

What an exciting event! Makes me (almost) wish I lived on the West Coast.

Thank God for the wonderful Catholics who used evil to create an opportunity for good (just like our Blessed Lord does).

Pray for the success of this event and please sign their support petition!

Remember the fable about the mouse and the lion? The lion releases the little mouse when he begs for mercy and the mouse promises to help the lion sometime in the future? The lion laughs. What could a mouse possibly do for a lion? But when the lion is caught in the hunter's net, it is the little mouse who comes to the rescue gnawing the cords that ensnare the lion. Well...the mice are gnawing the snare set by the dissenters. Let us pray that the park is so full of "mice" on May 16th that the whole world hears their roar!

DON'T FORGET TO SIGN THE SUPPORT PETITION!

Reporter Julia Duin Addresses Media on Archbishop Cordileone

My friend Julia Duin, former religion reporter for the Houston Chronicle and the Washington Times has a great article on the Get Religion website. Check it out.

I love the title:

Shocker! Archbishop Cordileone attempts to defend Catholic catechism in his schools

It's great to see a reporter treating the archbishop fairly. Julia is not a Catholic, but she believes in what reporting used to be -- reporting not editorializing. When she covers a story she does it with integrity giving both sides of the story and not using loaded language and spin to sway the reader's opinion. If you drop by, leave a comment. I imagine blogs measure the effectiveness of their reporters by the number of hits and comments they get. Give Julia's post a boost. She deserves it!

Support Archbishop Cordileone with your prayers

We need to make sure the good guys know we support them and are praying for them. Join Catholic Vote's prayer project. You can read their thank-you letter to Archbishop Corileone and sign it by going here. So far over 35,000 Catholics have signed the letter. Let's make sure the PR attack against the archbishop in San Francisco doesn't get the last word.

And while you're at it, why not send an email to the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano at nuntiususa@nuntiususa.org

Here's my letter to the nuncio:

Your Excellency,

My dad, an admiral in the United States Navy, always used to say that if you like what someone is doing tell his boss. So that’s what I’m doing.

As a mom of five and grandmother of twenty-three, I am especially grateful to Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco for his defense of the faith in Catholic Schools. So many children are losing the faith because of public scandals and poor catechesis. The archbishop’s move to ensure that only Catholic doctrine is taught in the schools is simply Catholic common senses. That teachers would object to agreeing not to undermine the faith publicly and teach in opposition is ludicrous. If they can’t agree to that they should not be teaching in Catholic schools!

Children are the future of the Church. But how can they evangelize and defend the faith if those in authority undermine the very beliefs that anchor them to the Rock of Peter.

Please extend to the Holy Father, the sincere appreciation of the people of God for the service of Archbishop Cordileone. I wish all the dioceses of the United States had such faithful sons of the Church to teach, govern, and sanctify.

Sincerely in Christ,

Mary Ann Kreitzer
President, Catholic Media Coalition

A Bishop Who Lives Up to His Name: Salvatore the Lion-Hearted

When I was a child there was a great program about Robin Hood on television. It ran from 1955 to 1960. How I loved that hero and his devotion to Richard the Lion-Hearted who was fighting in the Crusades to free the Holy Land from the Muslim invaders. (In those days we knew who the bad guys were.) Well, I feel like that nine-year-old kid again after reading the letter written by lion-hearted Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone to seven California Assemblymen who dared to criticize him for establishing Catholic moral standards for those teaching in Catholic high schools.

You can read the full document including the affirmation of faith at the diocesan website, but here is a brief summary from the document:
