It's Time for COVID Accountability. Join Me in Signing the COVID JUSTICE RESOLUTION
A number of organizations including Autism Action Network, Children’s Health Defense, Health Freedom Defense Fund, Stand For Health Freedom, and The Brownstone Institute have joined in forming a resolution to Congress to prevent the repeat of the COVID disaster ever again. Remember the draconian measures inflicted with brutality on our people. While my home was never raided, I defied the orders by organizing twice a month rosary lunches where a group of women gathered to socialize and then beg God for help through the intercession of the Blessed Mother. No one ever got sick because of these events. They were a lifeline for us.

America, How Far You Have Fallen
I'm reading the April issue of Chronicles. The major articles focus on Appomattox because April 9th was the 150th anniversary of Lee's surrender there. Editor Thomas Fleming makes this sobering point about the outcome in his commentary, Why They Fought:
The Theory of Democracy, which is in principle the right of a majority to strip a minority of its rights, was used to destroy the republic 150 years ago, and it is in the name of democratic equality that all the fundamental institutions of human life are now under attack. Once this principle is invoked, there are no barriers to the growth of government and its invasion of private life. We once had a constitution to defend us from the tyranny of the majority, but the Constitution of the United States,

What a Thought! Federal Cops in Smallville?
Al Sharpton Wants Fed Cop OverlordsJust think of it -- the same government that gave us Benghazi and Fast and Furious being in charge of policing every little community in this country. (I'm pausing here for that to sink in.)
If you want to see what federal cops look like read 1984 or Fahrenheit 451. What we don't need is Big Brother controlling every tiny community in this country. We already have too much federal intervention - even the control of thoughts and beliefs. The rule of subsidiarity has almost disappeared!
Now, if you're Catholic you probably know about the rule of subsidiarity and how important it is. Fr. John Hardon defines it this way:

This Gives Credence to the FEMA Camp Stories
Update 3:57 p.m.: I added several more article links below. The last one indicates that the property will be sold:
NBC Local Crew Stumbles Across FEMA Camp in NY – Threatened, Chased by Gov’t Contractors
New York news crew uncovers potentially operational FEMA camp by mistake, threatened
NewsChannel 13 crew threatened with arrest at Mount McGregor
NYS Associated Press Association issues Mount McGregor statement
Security firm takes control of former Wilton prison
Empire State Development has been charged with finding a buyer for prison buildings. The state parks department hopes to acquire the 720 acres surrounding those structures and make it part of nearby Moreau Lake State Park.Let's hope that's what happens to it. Perhaps this was just a security guard who should have been wearing a brown shirt flexing his muscles. I've met more than one of those when I was arrested during rescues at abortion mills both on the sidewalk, in courtrooms, and in jail.
NBC Local Crew Stumbles Across FEMA Camp in NY – Threatened, Chased by Gov’t Contractors
NewsChannel 13 crew threatened with arrest at Mount McGregor
NYS Associated Press Association issues Mount McGregor statement
Exactly why would there be so much protection for an abandoned state prison? According to one source there are 76 employees at the empty facility. What exactly is going on there that a security officer would threaten a news crew? Every citizen of New York state should be sending this video to the governor and their state senators and state delegates demanding answers.
I'm no conspiracy theorist, but this stinks and people have a right to know what's going on up the hill from Grant's cottage. I hope the news team from the local NBC affiliate is stirred up enough to pursue this.

Big Brother is Listening and Watching!
Scope of Phone Records Grab Goes Beyond Verizon
This is chilling. The technology exists to keep track of everything we do and say, where we are at every minute of the day, etc. You may say, "I have nothing to hide," but that begs the question. IT IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS! And, as the IRS scandal shows, it is all used to persecute those whose politics differ from the administration's. This entire administration is corrupt from top to bottom. They make Richard Nixon look like a petty thief. Pray for our poor country.
"In a new development, the National Security Agency and the FBI are tapping into the central servers of nine leading U.S. Internet companies in real time, obtaining audio and video chats, photographs, e-mails and other information, various news outlets reported. The program is code-named PRISM."

Yikes! Who Made Him the Grand Poobah?
Governor bans travel in Massachusetts by Executive Order "until further notice."
And when I say BAN, I mean get ready to be arrested!
Now I don't go out in the snow normally. I like to hunker down with a good book and a cup of tea, but I don't think politicians have the right to close every road in the state to its citizens. (How about out of state folks?) I remember a big snowstorm in February eight or nine years ago. My husband and I flew into Dulles coming home from a trip out west, and had a very snowy ride home.

The Eye of Big Brother is Upon You
Today seems to be Big Brother day for me. Judge Andrew Napolitano has an article about the drone technology that is going to be used against American citizens. (I blogged about this recently.) Some, he says, are as small as golf balls. Makes one think of the eyeballs kids play with at Halloween; only this is not a "trick" and it's sure no "treat!" Here are a few paragraphs from the article:Don’t believe me that this is coming? The photos that the drones will take may be retained and used or even distributed to others in the government so long as the “recipient is reasonably perceived to have a specific, lawful governmental function” in requiring them. And for the first time since the Civil War, the federal government will deploy military personnel insidetheUnitedStates and publicly acknowledge that it is deploying them “to collect information about U.S. persons.”
It gets worse. If the military personnel see something of interest from a drone, they may apply to a military judge or “military commander” for permission to conduct a physical search of the private property that intrigues them. Any “incidentally acquired information” can be retained or turned over to local law enforcement. What’s next? Prosecutions before military tribunals in the United States? This is totalitarianism and Napolitano's article is a warning. The eye of Sauron is upon us. Will we go down like lemmings running off the cliff or will we join in fellowship to fight?
Big Brother's Your Co-Pilot
Well...sometimes Big Brother is your pilot. Read the article linked below on the technology coming for autos and be prepared to have Big Brother as your passenger every time you slip into the driver's seat -- except when Big Brother decides to take over the controls. SB 1813 authorizes, rather mandates, technology that tracks your speed, seatbelt use, location, etc. The government will know everything about where you are and can also decommission your auto at will. SB 1813 also authorizes the IRS to confiscate your passport if you are a tax delinquent. Think of that and remember that the Constitution (that pesky document) guarantees the right against "unreasonable searches and seizures." Does the government really have the right to know where you are when you get into your car?
Ah...but the word "unreasonable" is the key. Nothing Big Brother does is EVER unreasonable. It's for (take your pick) your safety, your security (except border security), your children, etc. And does anybody really think the people making our laws know what's in them? Take a look at the bill. They are always long and complicated. I guess, like Nancy says, you have to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it.
'Your' Car Won't be after 2015

The Right to Choose --- to Eat What You Want!
Mad Moms to Food Police: We'll Eat What We Want
I have some questions:
How come a woman has the right to choose an abortion for no medical reason at all despite the fact it kills her baby and can endanger her life as well; and how come homosexuals have the right to choose to engage in perverted practices that transmit STDs including the deadly AIDS virus; and how come people have the right to choose to make or buy pornography that exploits women and puts them in extreme danger of abuse and even murder?
BUT....the state can ban the right to choose to buy food directly from a farmer or a coop?
It can't really about safety and the common good, because abortion and homosexual practices are a lot more dangerous than drinking raw milk or buying eggs directly from a farmer. My husband and I have been drinking raw milk ever since we moved to the Valley in 2002. We buy free range eggs from a local farmer. We get our grass fed beef from a Mennonite family that don't load them with hormones and feed them genetically modified corn. And we've never been healthier. So butt out, Big Brother, we'll eat what we want!

Living in a Police State
War on U.S. Homeschoolers Escalates
Consider the scenario. Social workers get an anonymous tip saying a family's children are in danger. They do nothing for two months, then arrive on the doorstep demanding immediate admittance to the home with no warrant. When the family refuses social workers call in the reinforcements, i.e., the cops. When the family still resists the warrantless search, the government thugs threaten immediate removal of the children. Wow!
For that family the police state is a reality. The parents relented under duress and the social workers found that the children were all fine when they entered the home.
Several of my children homeschool. This scenario could happen to them if they had a nasty neighbor. Consider the power of the anonymous accuser. You have a squabble with a neighbor, what an easy way to get back at them. The state generally offers immunity to anonymous accusers so anybody with children is at risk. Interesting, isn't it, that a country that allows the ultimate abuse of murdering children before birth, suddenly cares (two months after the anonymous call) about the condition of the children?
If this happened to your family, what would you do?

Don't the Feds have anything better to do?
Feds sting Amish farmer selling raw milk locally
My husband and I have been drinking raw milk since we moved out to the country. We own a share in the cow and pay the farmer a milking fee. We've been to the farm and seen the operation and trust this family's handling of their product implicitly. Their operation is likely cleaner than the local dairy farm down the street. We're getting milk from grass fed cows that aren't injected with hormones and antibiotics. Now exactly what business is it of the government to tell me we can't buy and drink this milk?

Government Gives the Shaft to Business!
A friend who runs a restaurant had the video below posted on his Facebook page. It shows exactly how government regulation suppresses business. But it brings in more money for government!

Newspeak in North Carolina: the "Healthy Youth Act"
We truly are living in Orwell's dystopian world these days where Big Brother uses language to lie. Here's just one of a legion of examples:North Carolina's public schools are implementing what is euphemistically called the "Healthy Youth Act" to indoctrinate 12 and 13-year old students on the use of every immoral, disgusting, and child-killing birth control method under the sun. Of course the usual list of sex gurus support the Act including NARAL, Planned Parenthood (PP), and the state teachers union. (Do most teachers really support this?)
Will they, one wonders, teach the kids that chlamydia, one of the most pervasive STDs among teens, is passed by skin to skin contact. Condoms, spermicides, pills, shots, patches, diaphragms, vaginal rings, the morning after pill, etc. do not protect against it. No doubt they will tell the kids they need not talk to their parents but can visit their friendly school counselor or local PP office to get whatever they need including STD treatments and AIDS tests...oh, and abortions when their birth control method fails. All of these sex ed programs increase the level of sexual activity among kids. Duh! That's what it's all about. PP doesn't make a cent off of chastity. These kids are sex consumers.
The "Healthy Youth Act" is anything but healthy for kids. It's all about arousing (pun intended) their curiosity about all things sexy and pleasurable. That these gifts from God are good only in the context of a faithful marriage will never cross the lips of the panderers teaching the courses.
If I lived in North Carolina and still had at kids at home, my middle schoolers would be learning at the kitchen table or in a faithful Catholic school. (Unfortunately sex ed has also invaded many Catholic schools so parents need to be sure they are safe alternatives.)
Although parents are permitted to opt their kids out of this immoral program, kids do a good job of teaching each other, especially when the material is titillating. Opting out is unlikely to protect the innocent from corruption.

Beware: Big Brother is Listening
Persecution of Christians for violating the "newspeak" laws of Big Brother is on the increase. In Canada, even a Catholic bishop was accused of hate speech for daring to speak the truths of the gospel. And now, here's another example, a Christian street preacher being targeted by the thought police and hauled off to jail under the Public Order Act (POA) in the U.K. Keep in mind that this act was put on the books to protect against riots at soccer games, etc. Like RICO legislation in the U.S. that aimed to have a chilling effect on gangster activity but is commonly used against pro-lifers and those who oppose sodomy, POA is being used against U.K. Christians who dare to challenge the morality of same-sex relationships. Here's a section of the Telegraph article:
The Public Order Act, which outlaws the unreasonable use of abusive language likely to cause distress, has been used to arrest religious people in a number of similar cases.
Harry Hammond, a pensioner, was convicted under Section 5 of the Act in 2002 for holding up a sign saying “Stop immorality. Stop Homosexuality. Stop Lesbianism. Jesus is Lord” while preaching in Bournemouth.
Stephen Green, a Christian campaigner, was arrested and charged in 2006 for handing out religious leaflets at a Gay Pride festival in Cardiff. The case against him was later dropped.
Christians be prepared. Like the Apostles who were dragged into court for proclaiming Jesus, you will be dragged before the magistrates for daring to uphold the word of God. Hate speech is coming here in the U.S., one more assault against Christians. Prepare yourselves for active persecution through prayer and fasting.

Obama Wants Federal Office of Global Warming!
New federal office for global warming
The president can set up anything he likes, but Congress has to fund it. The problems we have in this country fall at the feet of the men and women on Capitol Hill. The executive branch can only do what the 500+ legislators fund in the budget. The problem is the democrat-controlled Congress has no problems spending all of our money and saddling our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with massive debt. Throw the bums out in 2010! We can't afford them.

Civility is Suddenly a Big Issue -- This is a Reality Check.
The Mainstream media is suddenly concerned about the ugliness of the debate in America. Those tea party folks are inserting an uncivil and even dangerous tone into the debate that we've never seen before, they say. Give me a break! Do you folks have short memories? Where were you during the Bush years? Where were you when Sarah Palin's CHILDREN were being attacked by the likes of David Letterman and Bill Maher? After watching the CNN video below which summarizes hundreds of thousands of patriotic Americans by ONE stupid protest sign, check out the "civilized" attacks on George Bush. Oh, I forgot, those weren't uncivil attacks; they were true.
Frankly, I'm not a Bush fan. I didn't vote for him in his second term. He is a big government neo-conservative and contributed to a lot of our problems. I vote candidates, not party. Having said that, let's hear the left justify the photos below. And I'm old enough to remember the ad during the Johnson/Goldwater election with the little girl picking daisies when the nuclear explosion takes place and you see the mushroom cloud in the background.
Scare tactics and demonizing your opponent aren't an invention of conservatives. Get real, CNN. I was there in D.C. and I saw very few signs that by any stretch of the imagination could be interpreted as racist. This is just one more example of the mainstream media carrying water for the left.
