There's an old saying that if you are pointing a finger at someone, there are three fingers pointing back at you. It's true; try it.
And so I'm always amused to find Catholics in the blogosphere who consider themselves kind and luving as they condemn others "for condemning."
Fr. Z and Mike Voris are regular targets as well as anyone who dares to criticize the faux mercy of Pope Francis and the disastrous impact he is having on Church teachings.

Are You a Catholic in Good Standing?
I know I'm not. I used to write occasional articles for the diocesan paper, but I'm blacklisted and have been for years. They won't even publish a letter to the ed unless I sign it with a pseudonym. Because, heck, I'm mean. Hey, if you dare to criticize the scandals promulgated by our pathetic bishops, you must hate the Church.
What ever happened to the spiritual work of mercy, "To admonish the sinner." Most bishops have dropped it down the memory hole. Besides, the only unforgivable sin, worse than the sin against the Holy Spirit, that can result in serious retaliation is to criticize the bishops.
Clearly fornication and advancing moral evils is okay as shown by Cardinal Dolan's bowing and scraping to Mario Cuomo. Wonder what the bishops think of that mean ole John the Baptist with his politically incorrect extremist talk. How dare he call the religious leaders of his day a "brood of vipers?" Beheading was too good for him.
It will be interesting to see how my own bishop treats Terry McAuliffe, candidate for governor, a pro-abortion, pro-gay Catholic (sic) who attends St. Luke's in McLean. When McAuliffe starts trashing REAL CATHOLIC Ken Cuccinelli who defends the unborn and stands up for traditional marriage, will voters be advised that these are serious moral issues for Catholics - issues that are immoral to support? Or will McAuliffe get the wink and the nod and the pat on the back in the parish parking lot filled with bumper stickers advancing his pro-abortion, pro-gay career? What do you think?

Watch the Real Catholic and the Faux Catholic Duke it Out for Guv of VA
And if you care about the faith and the country send a donation to Ken. It will be a tough race with the liberal media and their long knives doing their best to gut Ken and his two running mates, E.W. Jackson and Mark Obenshain. They were at it before delegates had time to get home from the convention!
Sending a few prayers their way wouldn't hurt either.

The Mike Voris/ Melinda Selmys Battle: Sister against Brother
If you want to see fur fly, talk about homosexuality. Mike Voris and Melinda Selmys have been engaged in an exchange about how to approach the homosexual issue and change hearts and minds. I'm following it and it occurred to me this morning that it's like the Battle of Manassas: brothers shooting at one another and lots of folks coming out with their picnics to watch the battle. The angels must be looking down saying, "Lord, what fools these mortals be." Some of the battle is revealed at one of my favorite blogs, Abbey Roads. I entered the fray myself with a comment on Terry's blog and I'll post it here for what it's worth. We have an obligation to love each other where we are even when we call each other to holiness. But sometimes the differences are so great it's hard to get close enough to hear one another. Please pray for all those fighting the homosexual agenda while trying to evangelize those caught up in the immoral lifestyle.
And here's the blog comment I left at Abbey-Roads:

The Catholic Twilight Zone
Couldn't agree more with Mike Voris on this. In my own diocese the same thing happened in previous years to both kids and adults. Once, my own former pastor, Dominic Irace, refused Communion to a Virginia State Delegate, Dick Black, when he knelt for Communion at the cathedral. So a kneeling politician gets it, but the sacrilegious pols have no problem at all. Well, I'm happy to say that, as far as I know, this no longer happens in my diocese. Several people in my own parish kneel for Communion. When I go to Mass at St. John the Baptist in Front Royal the priest gives Communion at the altar rail (Yes, some churches still have them.) and Communicants can either stand or kneel. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all churches would offer the option. All it would take is a prie-dieu in ONE Communion line to give parishioners the option.

Let's Hear "NO!" from the Pulpit!
Every good parent knows that a big dose of parenting requires the wisdom to say, "No," when it's necessary. Teaching our children self-control means limiting many choices. Moderation means saying no to excess. Growing in virtue means saying no to sinful inclinations. If the bishops and clergy had been preaching to married couples the necessity of saying no to contraception, how different things would be today! So two thumbs up to Mike Voris for this episode of The Vortex. And let's pray that the bishops and their spiritual sons preach more "No to sin" sermons from the pulpit.

Homosexuality in the Church
Nothing explains the problems in the Church more accurately than the secret homosexual network. It's the reasons so many out and out gay priests scandalize with impunity. It's the reason priests' sex abuse was covered up by gay bishops. It's the reason entire dioceses were decimated.
And do you really think the exposure of some means the rest are gone? Dream on! The "gay" Masses continue, the silence from the pulpit about sexual morality speaks volumes, and gay advocates in the priesthood continue to be advanced.

I'm with Mike Voris. Bill Donohue is Ridiculous!
Well, here he goes again on the attack, this time against good and faithful Catholics who are sick of betrayal as Voris so eloquently points out. Donohue deserves the criticism. There is absolutely no excuse for what Cardinal Dolan has done by inviting Obama to the Al Smith Dinner. It's shameful, and Donohue, with all his schmoozing with bishops, illustrates Mike's point about the Catholic elite vs. the Catholic peasants who don't have a seat at the table. Many bishops don't seem to care two hoots about the devastation to the faith on their watch. God forgive them. Pray for the bishops and, while your at it, say one for Bill Donohue. Pray he retires.

The Train Wreck is Coming - Pray for Cardinal Dolan
New York City is on the way to electing an out and proud "Catholic" lesbian for mayor, one who is, incidentally, "married" to her lesbian lover. The showdown is a-comin' and this lady has already thrown down the gauntlet. No one can tell her what she can or can't do in "HER church!" (which certainly is NOT the Holy Catholic Church founded by Jesus Christ).
Let's pray Cardinal Dolan has the fortitude to meet the challenge head on. While I'm on retreat this week I am praying for him to, like Jesus, say, "Zeal for [God's] house consumes me." I'm also praying for Christine Quinn, the likely mayor who is on the fast track to hell unless she repents. Her scandal is so broad that the millstone awaiting her is a heavy one.
Jesus is separating the sheep from the goats. Where will Church leaders in the U.S. line up? At this point, it's fidelity and persecution or schism and persecution. Take your pick. Any Catholic who believes he will be dodge the bullet by following the politically correct path is naive. Useful dupes will be tolerated until they are no longer needed. Then they will follow the faithful to the rack. Pray for the courage to suffer well.

A Perspective on the Vatican Leaks, Etc.
Mike Voris pegs it again. Pray for our Holy Father that he will stand firm against the internal enemies intent on destroying the faith. The smoke of Satan has indeed entered Holy Mother Church. But that smoke will never suffocate her.

Bishop Jenky: A Daniel Come to Judgment
Bishop Daniel Jenky is a hero for his courage to stand up for the truth. And where are his brother bishops? Pray that more will imitate him and join the Church Militant instead of hiding in the church basement!

Can Western Civilization Recover from the Downward Spiral?
Moral and cultural relativism bring about the collapse of civilization. Catholic morality is the only solution. Proclaim the truth in season and out!

Is Western Culture in its Death Throes?
Yes, according to Mike Voris of Real Catholic TV who spoke last night in Front Royal addressing the topic R.I.P. Western Civilization. Voris, with a background in history, described how the disintegration of a civilization comes about. First the culture collapses morally, then economically, and then the government is overthrown. It was chillingly obvious that we are well on the way and that the demise of the Roman Empire has much to teach us. St. Augustine wrote the City of God as Rome imploded and the barbarians ushered in the dark ages. Christians, Voris said, need to reflect on what's coming next and be about the business of saving souls.

The Feud in the Church
This is a must viewing! Mike Voris pegs it again. If you don't understand what's happening in the Church, listen to this. Here's a preview:
"There are huge chasms of differences among the leaders themselves....The scourge of the Church...is not in the office of the bishop...the scourge is the differences among the bishops themselves....There are bishops who do not agree with the authentic teaching of the Church."
