Of Puffery and Pulchritude: White-washing the Bad Bishops!

Have you ever noticed that diocesan "newspapers" are filled with puffery and pulchritude to make the diocese and the bishop look good? I usually glance at the headlines of The Arlington Catholic Herald and, every now and then, read an article, but for the most part, it's not worth the time. A standing joke with our previous bishop was to count how many of his photos graced the pages. Well, after all, the diocesan paper is the Catholic version of the celebrity fan magazine. Make the bishop look good.

Mueller was careful to ensure the perpetuation of slander against Trump. Even though there was no evidence of Trump collusion with the Russians, Mueller was careful to say only that there was “insufficient” evidence of such collusion, rather than no evidence of collusion. When there is no evidence whatsoever to prove an allegation, there is indeed “insufficient” evidence.

Zero evidence is indeed “insufficient” to prove a case, but the word “insufficient” implies that some real evidence does exist. In Trump’s case, there was no “evidence” aside from the set of unsubstantiated allegations composed for the Steele Dossier, at the behest of Hillary Clinton.

This is exactly why NO man with homosexual inclinations should EVER be allowed to enter the seminary and be ordained...whether he's acted on it or not! It puts these men in a continual occasion of sin. They have frequent contact with altar boys, young teens in the parish youth group, fellow priests and seminarians. It is just asking for trouble and guaranteed to bring it on with many of them as the clergy sex abuse crisis shows. It's time to stop the insanity and make it clear that ONLY men who would make good husbands and fathers should be ordained to the priesthood.

Nabi Sayeth: In Part I, I presented to you for your consideration the “thinking” that exists in the mind of the person who contemplates suicide. Suicide is a choice, an act of control when a man, woman or child thinks that life is overwhelmingly out of control. It’s their way of taking control of the pain and confusion.

But because they are so incredibly self-focused, they do not consider other options to remedy their confusion nor do they take into account the devastation they leave behind to the lives of the very people who love them the most.

In Part I, I was so bold as to write that the clergy sex abuse scandal is a contributing factor to the rise in the suicide rate. There are two ways that this is so:

Nabi Sayeth: Oh shock of shocks, it would seem. I refer to a tragic incident that happened on Wednesday, November 28 in Houston Texas. More than 50 members of various law enforcement agencies raided the offices of Cardinal DiNardo, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Here’s a report from the local Houston media:

“I am a lay Catholic myself, but today I stand here as a district attorney of Montgomery County," Ligon said. "This is not a search warrant against the Catholic Church, but this search warrant is to review files that belonged to a defendant."
