Now Here's Graffiti I Love! We Need Him in the Valley!

We have the worst wall art here in the Valley. Really! Eleanor Roosevelt on an electrical box? What does she have to do with the Shenandoah Valley?

And Strasburg, the town up the road, is even worse. I cringe looking at the awful stuff that adorns the buildings. Why not pictures celebrating our history and our rural character.

Nope!

Ugly and irrelevant seem to be the rules. Whoever makes the decisions about this junk should be replaced. But see for yourself.

No doubt there's a deep message here, but it escapes me!
Is this supposed to be the Shenandoah River? Looks like an ocean tornado to me!
All I can say is, "Yikes!"

I like mazes but on the side of a building? What's the point?

I don't even know what to say about this! Makes me want to put on sunglasses!

What do you think? Do these "art works" fit in a historic town?

And to think that it was partially publicly funded by the citizens of Strasburg, without, I might add, any input from the citizens. Source

  2. If I had to guess, I would say the 1st image is the mind of Jeremiah Wright in the head of Barack Obama with a green logo of an environmental earth centered agenda without God.

The others I think are simply ugly with the exception of the white spilling over the top of the building painted blue. It reminds me of putting a drop of food color into a glass of water. Only this image appears to be taking the color out. What does it signify? I hate to imagine.

I believe we should realize that many little towns are being taken over by communists who reject religion and cling to "sustainability." These paintings are a sign to others that leftist people are here. That "farm to table"/fossil fuel hating people are here.

They have come because they can't afford to live in NY anymore, but they don't have the money to go to other urban centers that are prosperous so they have latched onto the infrastructure and organization of old empty small towns everywhere to sell their organic food and dream catchers and wind chimes.

They have not come to appreciate your heritage, they have come to invade and transform it like a cancer. What you see on the surface is the tip of the iceberg.

  3. I'm afraid you're right, Chriss. That's why Virginia has turned blue. The loonies ruin their places and then flee, but without wising up. They take their same "progressive" ideals and destroy their new places. Why? Because they meet the definition of insanity -- to continue to do the same thing and expect different results. I pray that Virginia is the place where the "spark" ignites a revolution against the culture of insanity!
